..Didn't last 6 months. People in BR know good food. And we have a lot of it...
It was about 6 years ago not 2
It lasted about 8 months and I went there 3 times a week

Sophomore year when our house was being constructed on, we got to eat at a few places around town for free, and one of them was Handy Andy's. I pretty much lived at that place that semester.
Good to have a fellow snake up in this beotch

FWIW, the Varsity is infamous for it's fast-paced, "rude" service. It goes in line with ATL's whole "the city too busy to hate" stigma. It's one of the funniest damn things to see tourists in Atlanta or rival fans in Athens step up to the counter and try to take their time ordering and looking at the menu because the wait staff there doesn't have time for your shite (the Varsity is also one of the busiest restaurant chains you'll ever see). If you don't know what you want, then you'd best step back, decide, rehearse what you're going to say and THEN jump into the fold.
This...and I was in there after the lunch rush.

Wintzell's is good - but since it is not an "original" I don't feel like it is a good "hidden gem" ...of course, that's just IMO
I was talking about Coszy's.
Swen is much better then Lai Lai's.

The Varsity is one of the most underwealming dining experiences of my life. I left that place so disapointed.

ever since they opened one up in Alpharetta I've found myself driving over there when I go home and gorging on Varsity Dogs. I like to hit up Waffle House in the AM, Varsity for lunch, and Taco Mac for dinner, just to see how well I've trained my body to handle such a diet

Not when you're getting a day drunk on. Stumbling down the Strip vs. heading to Northport is a no brainer.

Swens is on the strip. Where the Guthries used to be, In the strip of buildings behind Qdoba, and before the ten Hoor parking lot/deck.
Posted on 3/10/11 at 12:29 pm to TreyAnastasio
Wow, I didn't even know they had moved there. When was this?
Posted on 3/10/11 at 12:36 pm to NBamaAlum
2006ish. Guthries was there for my freshman and maybe sophmore year, since then its been Swen.
Posted on 3/10/11 at 12:43 pm to TreyAnastasio
Man, that whole side of campus has changed dramatically in the last few years.
Posted on 3/10/11 at 12:55 pm to NBamaAlum
In the 5 years I was there it became a different place. Unfortunatly my dorm, Paty, is still standing somehow.
