I've been watching football for several days now with one of our students that is on the sports turf crew, so I've gotten commentary on the different fields. Pretty interesting stuff actually.

A lot more goes into it than most people think.
I hung out with quite a few grad students from Auburn this year down at a convention in Tampa. I'm sure anyone that overheard us talking at the Tampa Hooters was confused as hell why we kept talking so much about grass.
Our new turf professor actually just graduated with his PhD from Auburn. He just moved in a few days ago.

No, the title should read "Hey Auburn, thank MI State". Michigan State's loss to Notre Dame and Stanford's loss to U.S.C. knocked them out of title contention.
