One can't say the state of Alabama isn't a pioneer at something. How?
ALABAMA became the first state to declare Christmas a legal holiday in 1836! Yep.
In the United States, President Ulysses S. Grant signed legislation that made Christmas a federal holiday in 1870. The law applied only to federal workers and the District of Columbia, but the observance of Christmas as a legal holiday was eventually adopted by all states.
It wasn't until 1907, 71 years later, that OKLAHOMA became the final state among the lower 48 to recognize Christmas as a legal holiday (Alaska & Hawaii instantly recognized Christmas as a legal holiday upon their entries into the United States).

Sorry I'm an American not a Confederate or a British. And you continue to prove my point by having the plantation owner to remember the confederacy Bama Fan
