What should he have done? He tried grabbing his hands, he tried tazering him twice, he asked repeatedly. Whats the next step?? Honest question? He didn't pull his gun out. How do you remove someone who refuses without physical force? Tell me?

Of course it is to not have a video like this or a cop hitting a civilian.
HOWEVER, they tried deescalation by talking to the man out of his seat. Should they have called 10 other officers to drag him out of his seat? Should they have thrown their hands up and said “we tried”

What was the next step in this situation of the goal is to remove him?

So your only alternative is to wait this jack arse out and hope he moves? I agree calling other officers could have helped but in this particular situation he was asked, tasted twice, and grabbed, threatened a police officer.

What else to accomplish the goal of removing this iditot would have done that? Hoping time will win???

Apparently, security had already told him to leave and he refused. At this point, it’s criminal trespassing, so cops were called over and he acted like a fool.

But they didn’t really. They just took the ticket attendant’s word. When the guy said she assaulted him and he held up his phone and said he had video of it they should have tried to figure out what was actually going on. They hadn’t seen it, based on the bodycam footage they just arrived. Instead the guy that ended up tasing him and going Mike Tyson punchout on him just went to grab him.

The cops don’t work for that gate attendant anymore than they work for that guy.

When he said she assaulted him, they should have taken him as seriously as they were taking her. When they arrived, this was a simple trespassing. No actual laws had been broken at that point. There are tens if not hundreds of thousands of incidences when the person trying to trespass someone else is in the wrong. There are videos of it all over youtube, tiktok, and facebook.

Instead of checking up when the guy told them he had been assaulted by her, which is a crime, taser cop just went to grab him by the shoulder. Maybe there is video of the guy being physically threatening before they arrived. But I doubt it as the cops just walked up nonchalant and said very loudly “you gotta leave” and JSO hasn’t released it. This seems like a case of he said/she said until the guy went off the reservation.

When they approached him; he told them he was actually the victim, they should have stopped and at least tried to figure out what in the hell was going on. As the picture below shows, he seemed pretty calm while the attendant is pointing at him. The fact that they completely ignored him when they didn’t know what was going on except for one persons story is bad policing. It just is.

Again, past that point the guy acted like a complete fricking idiot and got his arse kicked.

But the police should not have shown up and 100% believed this woman’s story and not even listened to him after he accused her of a crime and that he had video if it.. Was it bullshite? Likely. But it is their job to figure out what is going on. Instead the cop had his taser drawn on a guy that was just sitting there 15 seconds into the interaction.

One could argue action was required due to inaction by the fan.

He also didn't say I'm going to kill a cop and then immediately the cop punched him. There was repeated requests to leave, tried grabbing his hands, they tried tazing. The punching was the 4th act to remove him. I'd say pretty reasonable in a public forum. They also have no idea what this fan is capable of. Removing him as fast as possible was what was best for the public

Completely irrelevant. This is the only situation I'm referring to and only one that matters for this thread. If the same cop was a priest or won cop of the year in JSO or is Santa Clauson the side does that matterfor this particular situation, would it make it better in your eyes?

They asked him to calmly leave and speak to them and almost immediately he said he was going to kill a police officer. The time to litigate a he said / she said situation the cops decided isn't in the stands, its in the hall or outside which the white officer asked clearly and calmy several times.

Cops are surrounded by drunk idiots and have been told there's another one by the attendant. If the officer imnedisteky started punching I would agree but clearly they tried as many tactics yo remove this person as possible and every escalation failed. Funny the one that finally worked (physical force through punching) is the one others say too far?
