You clearly have forgotten. This is not the first time Alabama has lost a game in ugly fashion. Bear Bryant lost the 72 Orange Bowl 38-6. Perkins lost to Paterno 23-3. Curry lost to Notre Dame 37-6. Stallings lost to Louisville 34-7.n Dubose lost 42-6 to Arkansas, and in the same season they lost to unranked Virginia Tech in the Music City Bowl 38-7. Shula lost to LSU 27-3. Nick Saban lost to UL-Monroe at home 21-14; and got bodied by Clemson 44-16.
At LSU Saban lost 31-0 to Alabama.
It doesn’t happen that often, but it happens.

I don't think that is the case. The issue is when Bear Bryant retired, he passed away shortly after. Even then the ghost of Bryant lingered. Stallings had a really great 7 year run but aside of that, from 1983 to 2007 when Saban got there. Bama won 3 SEC titles and 1 NC. Saban changed that in 2009 winning both.
The issue now is Saban is on TV for ESPN commenting on Football every Saturday. DeBoer is a good coach, but every coach that goes there is going to have to deal with being an Alabama coach that followed Saban. And that is an act that no coach is going to match. The only Coach that could do it instantly and handle the pressure would be a guy like Urban Meyer. He is 61 and could give you 6 to 8 years before the burnout.
