Yeah I mean Auburn could go 7-5, of course. But we know MSU isn't going 12-0.

Gave you an up vote on the initial post, down vote on subsequent posts because you THINK I don't know about odds.

That doesn't change the fact that he only threw 13 TDs & 10 INTs in conference games compared to Boykin who threw 22 TDs and 6 INTs.
Let's get the whole picture. Dak had 24 TDs and 8 INT's in the SEC for 61.6% completion and 2,706 yards. Boykin had 27 TD's and 6 INT's for only 59.2% in the Big 12. And I'm pretty sure they play more conference games than us?
You're completely ignoring that states in the SEC, big difference there.
ETA: Holy shite they play 9 conference games. Yeah let's not make the in conference comparison.

In fairness, I can only judge based on what you are posting. Your posts support the supposition that you either don't know how they work or forgot because you got caught up talking about a player on a team you pull for. Downvote all you want, it is just cowardly for you to try and anonymously downvote posts that all had factual information in them because your fanhood got hurt.

I don't agree with it, but Heisman voters are largely not going to care about the conference differentiation. Last year, for most of the year, national pundits were talking about the Big 12 as a juggernaut, for instance.

They play 9 conference games to our 8, just comparing in conference stats isn't a legitimate comparison.
My point is that looking at the stats from the season as a whole, Dak is the better QB. Now, that doesn't mean that Boykin isn't going to schoolboy the Big 12's Highschool defenses next year, but that remains to be seen.

quote:23 TDs.
Dak had 24 TDs
quote:27 TDs.
Boykin had 22 TD's
I'm not sure why you have to lie about these numbers to try to prove your point. Why the need to exclude Boykin's rushing TDs but include them for Dak?
quote:Boykin also had 3,315 yards.
and 2,706 yards
quote:Yeah, because as bowl season showed us, the SEC reigned supreme this past year.

Didn't TCU & MSU have a common opponent last year?

How do you get such elementary stuff wrong?

It is worth noting that there is a trend of Mullen's quarterbacks getting statistically worse over time. Tebow's stats declined from his monster 2007 season. Something to watch for if one is betting.

He had a receiving TD, 24 total.

Why do you refuse to count the game they play against their own ghost squad?

He had a receiving TD, 24 total.
ETA: Boykin had a receiving TD against ISU... so he actually had 28 TDs.
Thanks for mentioning this.

Dak drastically improved from 2013 to 2014, maybe he doesn't do the same this offseason but I'm expecting improvement. He's came a long way as a passer in the last few years.

God damn it. My bad. I was just adding the one because I knew it wasn't listed with rushing and passing stats.

Not knowing jack shite about the Big 12 helps.

I assumed they did given that State traveled to play them. No way that would happen any other way, right?

Thank you. Came here to post that.
Not sure where he got 10 from...

I'm talking as someone who wants to bet the futures. Hope is wonderful, but when it comes down to how to spend your money, you have to understand that most quarterbacks who have fantastic seasons and come back fall off a bit (Mullen's quarterbacks tend to do so specifically and demonstrably). I'm sure Boykin won't be as efficient too. I think Dak is a good bet, but you can probably get him at even better odds closer to the season.

TBH, I wouldn't bet on it just because his hopes rely on us winning 10 games, with the West as stacked as it's ever been. I expect him to have great stats, because he has an incredibly talented and deep lineup of WR's around him. But if we win 9 games or fewer he doesn't have a shot.

I'll be interested to see if Dak becomes the first senior quarterback in the Mullen era to hold off an underclassman for his job for the entire season.
