Which is sad because when you were 7-0 and in the midst of your "We Believe!" campaign, Mississippi State fans were sure Banks was going to go above Milliner in the draft.

I thought he was based on the way he covered Justin Hunter, Cordelle Patterson, and Da'rick Rodgers. Then came the leg injury and I think he lost a step after that

He still is going to get paid, early second round at worst.

At worst? Nope, not with that 40. Rhodes and Trufant's 40s help them to be the number 2 and number 3 corners, and even Slay made some money today. I say at worst Banks is a mid 3rd round pick.

Probably not, but he locked down great receivers before being injured. Not an opinion. He did it. After injury, he didn't. I think it had more to do with the defense's confusion the entire second half of the year though. Well that, and getting burnt.

If leg injury is a metaphor for the beginning of real competition, then I strongly agree.

Yes. Why shouldn't I? It's the only thread of hope that makes me believe Banks was the best corner in the country before his injury

Why do you say it isn't? If it isn't, then is Florida in 2007 elite? That team was sandwiched between two national championship teams but put up a 9-4 record. Nothing about 9-4 says elite to me, but that was many of the same players that made up two national championship teams. I also wouldn't call Alabama 2010 elite even though they were sandwiched between two national championship teams.

That was my point

Just because y'all were one of the best teams on the schedule doesn't mean you were elite. Y'all were 7-6. Maybe elite by comparison but certainly not in the grand scheme of things.

Alot of teams passed on Emmitt Smith b/c of his forty time too.Banks is a football player,he makes plays on the field. He did it 4 yrs in a row against SEC competition. He may not be a Patrick Peterson but I believe he will have a solid career in the Nfl barring injury. He has talent, great attitude, and a hard worker.People have been underestimating him his whole life. He's proven them wrong so far.

Not bad for a kid from the little town of Maben MS who's only scholarship offer was STATE. I also beleive he was a 2-Star at best. Kinda shows you how important and fool proof stars really are.

Pretty much any good player from State is a 2-star that blew up.
