Did it ever occur to you guys that what is missing in all of these photos and videos is any audio of instructions being given to the linesman from the other official?
Yes it has. That's why I would like an explanation from the SEC. Media inquiries could acquire that with a little persistence. The integrity of the league and game demands it.

Watch the replay and see where the ball was when his knee hit the ground. The ref was ABOUT to screw Bama big time.
You're missing the point. What happened before on that play is irrelevant. What is relevant is that the ref cheated by looking back on the first down marker in order to make sure yall got a first down.

So the ref is cheating by making the correct call?

I knew you gumps would eventually get it.

He sure as frick isn't making the right call if he looks back and makes sure that its at the first down marker, not to mention his knee went down well behind the marker, which indisputably made it the wrong call.

Correct. Although, I'll argue the ball was down about a foot to two feet behind where his final spot is. But, I'm not concerned with the spot, its the process that's suspicious.
Alabama doesn't need that spot to win the game. They were going to win the game if all the calls went against them. But frick, if that doesn't LOOK like someone trying to help the home team then I don't know what is. So, an explanation would be nice.

That gif will go down as a classic on this board.

You must be important.

The ref in question initially spots the ball with his left foot ON the sideline. Watch the video, he has his left foot down where forward progress of the ball is. He then comes off the sidelines and looks stupid with his shuffling feet....but at the end of the final spotting he has the ball where his initial spot was.
Good call by the ref to get things right.

Yeah, thanks for leaving the part out where he literally looks down at the first down marker. That's a pretty big detail there.

The ruling was Lester was out of bounds....so the ball is out of bounds = no fumble.
Actually, the ruling on the field was that the ball was fumbled out of bounds. If the runner had been ruled out, the call would have stood because there was no evidence to show that he was clearly in bounds or out of bounds.
As far as the spot is concerned, it is clearly a perception problem, and the league needs to address it. If the other linesman had a different spot, the ball should have gone to the other linesman and spotted accordingly.
If Bama felt there was an issue with the ball being spotted short, they could have always challenged the spot.

Ha because you Gumps didn't whine about that reciever being shoved out of the way in the end zone by Corey Webster years ago? Oh wait. You were still in grade school then. Nevermind. Carry your Gump arse on..
All fanbases whine when a call doesn't go there way and they feel they lost a game because of it. Some more than others, but I digress. What makes the LSU fanbase completely unique is it's propensity to incessantly whine about the refs in games they weren't involved in. Someone supporting your school has started at least 3 threads in the last 24 hours about the refs in the Bama/ OM game. We all know you guys are neurotic, but come on. I challenge you to find similar threads with Bama fans falling all over themselves bitching about the refs in a game Bama didn't play in.

Or else he was listening to the coach talk to him.
No medicine for your burning pussy I see.
