Did they beat Ala. in Tuscaloosa earlier this year, win their division and conference, play a conference championship game?

I have to admit it is a lose/lose for Bama to play Notre Dame in the National Championship. Why?
1. If we lose "BIG IF" the national media will say that the SEC is not as strong of a conference as advertised.
2. If we win butt-hurt Notre Dame fans who will be backed up by the national media will say how much tougher the academics are at Notre Dame. How Notre Dame truly recruits "student athletes." I am sure Lou Holtz and his butt-boy Regis Philbin will be leading the charge.
I still hope BAMA monkey stomp's ND...I want to watch the national meltdown of fair weather Notre Dame fans try and talk about college football like they know something about it.
I think Lou gave a few "gummers" when he was coaching Notre Dame...
