No, I'm willing to bet bad defenses will be the norm for Malzahn.

Kinda like Petrino....all the importance is placed on offense and the HUNH. Also, the HUNH will always be detrimental to the defense.

How is this the case at Auburn? Auburn doesn't recruit defensive players? Or we run too many plays on offense and put the defense on the field because we score so quickly?

Ok, we will see. But I'm betting time will show that defenses will struggle with Malzahn at the head.

I'm just saying that Auburn has recruited very good defensive players. We are paying a defensive coordinator $1.6 million. Our pace (especially this year) shouldn't affect the defense other than stalling out after 3 downs. Even at our fastest we were middle of the pack inTOP. Any offense that doesn't score points and turns the ball back over that quickly will strain the defense.
I'm not Petrino expert, but I didn't think he put much emphasis in defense nor did he recruit that well on defense. Auburn has made a significant investment on the defensive side of the ball.

I am shocked Auburn fans are all still sticking up for him. Muschamp is not the defensive mind that Auburm thought they were getting. If Muschamp is not the problem then they should have never fired the coach before him because Muschamp is not doing any better. It's going to be fun watching the Auburn fans realize how much of a cancer Muschamp is .

Actually I think the defense does look better than last year.
I'd really like to know what you think Muschamp is doing to undermine the team. What kind of cancer is he? Did he mindfrick Jeremy Johnson into throwing the ball the other way? Is he calling the redzone plays this year? Is he moonlighting coaching the OL?
