expect us to make a run like this about every 4-5 years without ever winning anything of significance

-par for us will be to ruin someones title hopes while also losing to a bottom dweller every year, will have a winning record in the SEC most years

I count that as progress. baby steps

Exactly. Pinkel made offensive scheme adjustments between Year One and Two to compete in the SEC. And I'm sure he'll make (and continue to make) personnel adjustments in recruiting to better compete. All things considered, Missouri has wildly outpaced expectations.

And somehow the Ol' Bridesmaid STILL couldn't close the deal.

Plus, at his age he's about to head into the slow disintegration of Bobby Bowden senility. Sucks for Clucks.

It's like clockwork here. If we could harness the Rant energy, we could achieve energy independence as a country.

There's a select contingent of Aggies (about 5 or 6) who think they have some sort of Abrahamic birthright to achieve football success and are confounded every time we beat them (6 out of 8).

And then there's the frustrated Cocks. We won the division when they had the most favorable schedule they'd had in a few years.

Most of the answers to these navel-gazing posts of "does Mizzou belong" tell you far more about the team of the person answering the question than it does about Mizzou.

Missouri has shown to be a solid program lately in the Big12 and now the SEC. From what I can tell Mizzou's coach has got the goods and it will only get better with top talent under him. Without solid coaching nothing else matters. This season showed Missouri is capable of putting together that championship caliber team any given year. That's all the SEC is and it's why the SEC rocks like we do. We used to have 6 or so legit programs capable of putting together Magical seasons any given year. No other conference comes close to this in CFB, and the odds are good the SEC spits out a worty team yearly. Now Mizzou deserves to be mentioned and Texas A&M is on watch after Mizzou's showing.

Tennessee's SEC man card about to expire too, tighten up Tennessee.....

As a college student at MU next year, me and some of the guys i hang with are planning on only going to one away game next year. Were thinking about going to the other Columbia. I can now see Columbia War or whatever 2 years in a row. I liked your fans for the most part, you guys are nice people. Except for this one guy who was a total jack arse.

you're assuming UF and UGA never get their shite together. If they do, y'all will not have a winning record in the SEC most years.

And you're assuming that we wouldn't have won if they were completely healthy. One assumption isn't any better than the other.

You wouldn't have. And I don't think anyone but Mizzou fans would disagree with me here. Y'all had a good team this year, but your success was largely due to UGA and UF sucking. The East straight blew this year.

Naw it's not an assumption. It's a fact. The general consensus around here is that Mizzou had a good little team, but y'all are not a heavyweight and probably never will be. Congratulations and I mean that sincerely. But don't get too used to it.

I wouldn't put too much stock into Rant "facts".

Last season Mizzou had multiple key injuries that effected their level of play. Struggled to a 5-7 record.
Rant Fact: It's because Mizzou isn't ready for grown man football and you need to recruit for real SEC depth. Mizzou is destined to be a bottom dweller football program in the SEC.

This season Mizzou bounces back and wins the East. Multiple injuries to Florida and UGA effected their level of play.
Rant Fact: The injury excuse card was played ad nauseam for Florida and UGA. Predictions almost every week that Mizzou was going to be exposed and skull fricked by insert team here but Mizzou kept rolling.

Point being: Rant facts should be taken lightly as they have been proven to be very unreliable, which of course, wouldn't make them "facts". Mizzou fans here has predicted mid tier Mizzou teams with the occasional run for the East title, and in most years having a winning record in SEC play. Don't see how that's an unreasonable prediction, and more closer to any "fact" that the Rant produces. I don't see any Mizzou fan predicting us to being a heavyweight either, so as the old saying goes.."just the facts ma'am".

I don't think you know what a "fact" is. Let me guess, you also think the Bible is full of facts.

Bah. Uga is the same team they have been under ricth. Perennial underachievers that think they are better than they are. SC is improved, Vandy is improved, and with mizzou being added , uga has more competition. Uga is the same team but it makes talking heads and uga fans feel better saying they are down.

Mizzou is gonna be fine.

Yeah I got no problem with mizzou for the most part. I went Missouri once it reminded me a lot of South Carolina except with much larger farms
