#1...if that was true, why not change TSIO's rotation? Or, better yet, come up with ANY BETTER schedule format? They KNEW adding 2 teams would have to adjust the schedule format.

#2...changing this rotation CAUSED Aub. to play @ UGA & @ Ala. in the same year (as well as UGA @ Aub. & @ GT)
So...by trying to correct 1 thing created more problems.

#1- Just explained that would have fricked up Auburn-Tennessee scheduling

#2- Just said that scheduling is hard.

I think tv wants more conference games to be relevant to division title the last 2 weeks of the regular season.

So it looks like they want the east-west cross over games to be on the schedule earlier.

The networks will pay more if the November games are more meaningful.

What they want is there to be several teams at 5-1 coming down the stretch, and for the teams in those division races to play each other later in the season.

In the end if we can get a rent-a-win between LSU and bama it will be worth it. Which is the long term goal.

I think the networks are going to make SEC not slate so many FCS games on weekend before thanksgiving. They likely want those games to be spread out among the weeks instead of concentrated at the next to last week.

IF that’s what TV tells them to do, it will happen. I think we will finish most seasons with back to back division games, one home, one away, going forward.

#1 - you mean Ala. or Aub.? Why would a random Aub./Tn. game matter
#2 - as another post points out, this now has UGA @ Aub., @ GT, @ Fl. in the same year (3 of our biggest games)!

So...no matter how you spin it, the SEC f---ed up things with their format & then made things WORSE with the band-aid they slapped on it.

I ain't denying 14 is a hard # to work with. But doesn't explain that this format was the BEST they could have used.

That'll be interesting to see who is now scheduled.

COFH against the GnaTs is always Thanksgiving week.

The same reason a random UGA-Bama game mattered to them. An equal number of home and away games in the season. All of the other stuff you are referring to is secondary.

It wasn’t playing Uga and Bama back to back son. It was that the two games were either home or away depending on the season. I know facts are hard for Uga people.

The issue was this dumb format the SEC went with. So, to fit their mold, DSOR's rotation was flipped. THAT caused Aub's complaint of 2 games on the road every other year.

So, in Georgia's eyes, the SEC is the 1st to blame for now putting our 3 biggest games on the road every other year & (2 of them almost back-to-back). (Aub. can blame the SEC for the same scenario.) & 2nd - Aub. & the SEC from changing DSOR from being played in Nov. (which has ONLY happened 5X in it's history).

Therefore UGA has every right to be angry @ this mess!

FYI, this swap ALSO caused US to have 2 games home or away the same year as well.

I know facts are hard for schools who can't tell what to call their team.

LOLZ, I didn't make a thread about Uga. I responded to the OP. Your ability at comprehension is sad.

The original movement was to get 3 home games and 3 away games within the division.

I would like to see all cross division games be played before October 15. Division races would be emphasized toward back half of the season.

I was really against moving the AU game... and still think UGA should get the home game back; so that the dawgs are able to have Auburn and GT opposite years. No matter when the game is played..

But .. and I do t know if this is intentional and I haven’t looked at anyone else’s schedule.., but UGA gets Bama in sept and AU in oct... that leaves the majority of the division backloaded for November. I kinda like that

I understand that point within the division. However, the c-d rotation didn't matter as long as 1 was H & 1 A. Therefore changing DSOR's rotation was for...? As it's been pointed out, leaving it alone WOULD NOT cause our teams having the 2 road games to end the season every other year. Also, that goes to show how flipping it would effect anybody else but our schools.

I understand the in state rivalries are traditionally played last, but IF the SEC can monetize GA-FLa as the 12th game....

At the end of the day, money will drive all of this.

Your game with Florida is moving to campus.

Most of the changes of the last 40 years are related to Money and TV. Auburn played Georgia Tech forever. In fact, I still think we have played them more often than any of our west division teams with maybe the exception of MSU.

Things change and life is unfair.

Last Georgia Tech yearly game was in 1987 or so. Then the 12 team SEC took away AU-UT, then AU-Florida was canned.

14 team league made it where we play Florida in Auburn once every twelve years!
You play Bama in Athens once every twelve years.

It’s almost unless you are in the same division, you are in a different conference.

Well maybe in 5 years when the rotation is over the SEC will fix all this shite with a much better rotation or go to 9 conference games.

Both should be equally fresh in Oct. UGA and their ACC schedule will not give the bulldogs an upper hand anymore.

I understand all that. Which is why I'm a fan of going to 16 teams with 4X4 pods. As I've posted on here before, I would pair up 2 pods yearly making everybody play once in 3 years (H/A in 6). Unfortunately, there is NO WAY to do a full H/A with 14 teams in 4 years (unless you remove divisions, but that would require adding more tie-breakers due to schedule unfairness (ranking due to lack of common opponents)).

I'm also a HUGE FAN of the WLOCP being played @ the schools (2nd is a rotation that INCLUDES Atlanta (already been discussed on another thread)).
