Can't win with no Defense bud. It's called a Team. Even the kickers and snappers matter. You can't win championships with some great talent. Of course, you numbskulls already know this.

Think about what he did accomplish. Les had to traverse through some generationally great teams in ALABAMA. He still won 5 of the 12. It was also the most watched and anticipated rivalry each year. Ask CBS? The best way I can describe that period for BAMA and LSU was that each game was like a near death experience for both fan bases.

It gave us GOTC, Yeldon screen in 2012, overtime thriller in 14 and Fournette vs Henry for the Heisman.

Also 2007 and Julio ripping out LSU’s heart in 08 and 09.

Really from Saban’s arrival until 1/9/12, every game was a classic.

Please review the 2014 tape in Baton Rouge. 2015 didn't end the way LSU fans hoped and they never forgave Les. But LSU came into 2015 with Leonard Fournetter averaging 192 yards/game and tearing up college football again. They were ranked #2 in the land from the first playoff committee poll. I don't know how anyone can say 2012 was the end of that rivalry. No freakin' way.

2014 was great but 2013 and 2015 Alabama won going away. 2016 was ugly but Les loss 10-0. The way LSU lost to Bama post 21-0 had a big part in LSU wanting Les gone.

The biggest loss for Les to Bama pre 21-0 was 24-15 in 2009.

He then went 21-17, 38-17, 20-13.

After that LSU would lose four straight by double digits until 2019.

How long have you watched the game of football? Has it been long enough to figure out that there are 3 separate facets to the game? Offense, defense, and special teams. LSU's 2023 offense was champion caliber, they did a lot. The defense couldn't have competed in the dixie yutes.

Last time I checked the Head Coach is responsible for all three phases of the game. He wasted tremendous talent on Offense by having a crappy Defense. It is all on BK.

Miles won a natty and played for another. You can't say he accomplished less.

Nick Saban had a Heisman winner (Bryce Young), Will Anderson, Jaymyr Gibbs and an NFL secondary and lost to Brian Kelly in 2022.

I stand by my comment. Had LSU had another play other than the toss dive, we would've been a powerhouse.

Anyone can play that game. You are simply looking back and deciding the value of the rivalry by the score. In real-time is the most honest way to look at a rivalry under Les Miles that went nuclear every year.

2014 was just like 2012. Last second, near-death experience. But in 2015, my heart was in my throat as always and yours was too when he brought them into Tuscaloosa. Frankly, Les Miles's teams scared the shite out of me. He could recruit, and develop and that grass-eating SOB had his defenses and players as hard as ball bearings on gameday. Everything we earned was like busting rocks with a sledgehammer for 4 quarters. That's real-time and that's Les Miles's LSU teams for 12 years.

They were exciting games but Alabama began to dominate. It really does come down to Les’ inability to adapt offensively. Gus and Kick Six led Saban to Kiffin and Sark. Les didn’t adapt. That 2015 game with Fournette being the prime example.

2016 was a scoreless game until late in the 3rd quarter. Up to Alabama's first scoring drive, there were only 10 first downs combined between the two teams. Alabama had a TD drive, then LSU threw a pick immediately leading to a FG. The game was completely dominated by the two defenses otherwise. The game ended 10-0.

2017 was a weird game. Statistically the game was about dead even. Really a handful of missed plays (drops/underthrows) and costly penalties cost LSU.

As a UK fan that had the best of the best of the best players for 15 years, I think I'm more than qualified and justified to give that response.

Go to the little table 2.0 fricking wannabe.

You're deflecting.

agree completely. LSU definitely had the horses to compete but Les was too stubborn/scared to modernize his offense
