Who do you think they will lose to?

1999 FL ST. - CHRIS WEINKE (JR)
2000 OKLA - JOSH HEUPEL (SR)
2001 MIAMI - KEN DORSEY (JR)
2002 OHIO ST. - CRAIG KRENZEL (JR)
2003 LSU - MATT MAUCK (JR)
2004 USC - MATT LIENART (JR)
2005 TEXAS - VINCE YOUNG (JR)
2006 UF - CHRIS LEAK(SR)
2007 LSU - MATT FLYNN (SR)
2008 UF - TIM TEBOW (JR)
2009 ALABAMA - GREG MCELROY (JR)
2010 AUBURN - CAM NEWTON (JR)
starting QBs tend to be upperclassmen and even so you have to at least acknowledge Leinart was the QB for a team that won a NC in 2003 and Tebow shared QB duties for Florida in 2006
But yes, IMO generally it is an advantage to have an upperclassman QB - they just tend to be better by then

I think they have a good chance. But the odds are always a any given team will lose I guess...so not really a bold statement

If he's not a game manager, then what is he?

You're saying that because your team has absolutely no chance at winning it again this year and you barners are spiteful bastards.

I said it before the year started.

Yep. What's your point?

Hehehe. As the inimitable Lee Corso would say, "Not so fast, my friend!"
Seems that your "analysis" was just a tad incomplete :
1992 BAMA : Jay Barker ~ SOPHOMORE
The Tide absolutely CRUSHED the highly favored Miami Thugs and young Mr. Barker passed for only 18 yards & had TWO interceptions in that Sugar Bowl NC Game. Whew!
However, on the strength of a bone-crushing defense & a masterful defensive plan, Bama didn't need a good passing game in order to secure yet *another* huge National Championship victory.
Yes, indeed, I'd definitely prefer that the Bama starting QB has at least a full year of experience before attempting to lead his team to a BCS Championship. But it certainly isn't required per se and a GREAT defense makes the accomplishment of that task considerably more likely. Also, if Bama makes it back to the Sugar Bowl for the title game, it would be GREAT to see a *Sophomore* lead Bama to another NC for the SECOND time.
Obviously, only time will tell how this very interesting saga plays itself out. But I would *not* be at all surprised if the Tide continues to "Roll to Victory" right to the very end.

That I don't think anyone from the SEC will be in the MNC game. The same it's been for months.

Don't think so either. I hope they win it all. Watching the Russell Wilson special last Saturday, he seems like a real good kid. Would love to see him get an MNC. Plus, Wisconsin fans are top-notch in my book.

agreed. in the prediciton thread earlier this year i predicted wiscy vs bammer with bammer losing. only change? the badgas ain't losing
love their fans, their campus i hear is great and basically a lot like the athens of the midwest, their rowdy, never had much to celebrate, and russell wilson is a certifiable bad arse along with james white, montee ball, nick toon and the coolest douche coach going in Bret Bielema. i loved wisconsin int he days of stocco and bernstein and i love them now. i would have gone there had i got my application in on time

FIFY. The SECCG won't be NEAR as difficult as LSU. Nobody over there will beat Alabama this season. Or ya'll either for that matter.
