re: Harsin’s scheme simply doesn’t fit with Auburn’s personnel

Good defense requires experience and sometimes they’ve had a bad mix of experience. It happens. They usually manage to always be top 20-25 but get torched by the best teams on the schedule.
I reckon us dumbfricks on here can suggest that Saban ought to play a simpler scheme so he’d have 10 titles at Alabama instead of just 6 but there’s probably a reason we’re posting on a message board and not coaching an SEC program.
No, you are reverse engineering a season. The talent was there, the schedule was there, but now you are saying the loses were due to a bad mix. Not really, the problem usually happened when they played a decent QB: Tebow, Cam, Marshall, JFF, Wallace, Lawrence, Stidham and Burrow. The Saban/Smart coached secondary was usually the cause of the loss. Saban is just lucky the SEC didn't produce more quality QBs during his tenure.

Sounds like it could be a pretty good comparison.
I guess it depends on how much stock you put in the difference between 4* and 5* players as determined by the various recruiting services, which have all seen significant grade inflation in recent years.
We get it - AU will never compete with Bama in recruiting 5* talent. But the difference between Bama’s talent and AU’s is far less than, say, the difference between Ohio State’s and Northwestern’s, or Clemson’s and Wake Forest’s.
I realize you’re trolling, but surely you agree, whether you’re willing to admit to it publicly or not.

Elite QB play is difficult to beat. There’s a shocker. Glad you finally cracked that code.
We have also beaten the absolute dog shite out of some of the best QBs college football has produced over that time.
Matthew Stafford
Tim Tebow
Kyler Murray
Drew Lock
Joe Burrow
Johnny Manziel
Garrett Gilbert
Colt McCoy
Dak Prescott
Kirk Cousins
The list goes on. Yeah, if we played more elite quarterbacks, we’d have an extra couple losses. That’s called football, as it turns out.

After a quick look while drinking my morning coffee, you started posting at around 9:40am yesterday and didn’t stop until 11:57pm. I mean you almost literally didn’t stop. ALL DAY. I don’t even think other Bama fans claim you. I believe i am going to go puke now.

Bugeyed Goober doesn't recognize the best RB in the Conference is at Auburn.

You don’t win FIVE (5), (V), SECRant awards without your own fan base claiming you, bottom tier SECRant alter who’s wasted 2 of his first 3 posts on little ol’ me, inevitable65.

Yes I think the next couple of years could be rough, but the only thing that really matters rn is recruiting. This year will mean nothing record wise. Next year they’ll have to improve, but nothing huge will be required. Then the real assessment begins.
As long as he starts recruiting well. That’s the only thing he’s being judged on rn.

I wouldn't call them elite QBs, just good College QBs. Saban has had problems when he faces better than average QBs and really has a problem if they have a surrounding cast. Really something lacking in the SEC during his tenure. It is something that is rarely talked about.

Can you name one college team this doesn't equally apply to?

Well, 3 of your first 5 posts on this board have been responses to yours truly.

Harsin is a f*ckin idiot. He's easily the worst coach in the SEC.

THE WORST!
You heard the guy.

From a fanbase that passionately criticized Gus at the same time lusting after him. They even hired a mini-me version of him with Morris. We have all seen it before, a guy who complains about the looks of a girl that blows him off and then he dates someone who looks just like her.

Jalen had some accuracy/reading issues in the beginning of his career, but his main issue was always being terrified of turning the ball over. Even when guys were open he was too scared to throw it too them. I think he finally started to get over it when Tua took his spot and he had nothing to lose, and when he went to Oklahoma..

You hired an old position coach who’d never even been a coordinator. He’s not even in the same discussion with a coach who has the 3rd highest win % in the nation.
Harsin may actually beat some other SEC teams in addition to our annual rent-a-win vs. Arkansas.

He’s going to struggle to win games in the SEC West, IMO. Overall, he’s looking at likely losses vs. Bama, LSU, TAMU, & UGA each year based on talent alone unless he can rebuild his roster very quickly.
