Tot let the program implode...quit recruiting..was well on his way to a 4-8 season and quit (before he could be fired, which he would have been). Tubs quit recruiting and not only went something like 4-8, but got destroyed and embarrassed by our rivals en route to one of the worst AU seasons in my lifetime. Chiz went 4-8 and 0-8 in the SEC. FIRED. No AU coach could survive any of that. Gus runs a squeaky clean program, is by all accounts a phenomenal human being and great cultural fit for AU....has not quit on recruiting and routinely pulls a #5-#12 class, is doing so while Bama and UGA are having unprecedented levels of success and LSU (as a sustainable program) isn’t far behind and is likely about to get the boost they need to be next level, while being 2nd fiddle in his own state, something none of his rivals have to deal with, and was a few bounces of the ball away (and a little better QB play) from being undefeated>SEC Champship>shot at the playoff...all with a true freshman, teenager QB while our rivals are all playing seasoned veteran 1st round picks.

Assuming that indeed warrants firing, who do you think we can get that will be an upgrade?

UF is the exception this year. Shouldn’t have lost that one and wouldn’t have if not for our true freshman QB playing like one and having his worst game.

Yellowman and his cronies have the money to make that happen if they want to. There are others with the money, but Yellowman is the only one who would blow that kind of money on firing a coach. Plus, they already fired the President who gave him that contract.

Didn’t he sign a huge extension recently? Maybe he wants out and it works for both parties.

Do you sit around with your pals and tickle each other’s balls while you talk about that magical year with Cam? Does that feeling wash away the continuous sting of defeat that you feel year after year?

Do you honestly believe that anyone would come in and use their own money to buy Gus out at that price? You just have to wait him out baw. Just sit back and enjoy the face contortions and golly gee shucks routine for the next couple years.

Be careful what you wish for. It worked out for LSU, but that was not a given. It can always get worse. Just look at Arky and Tenn.

Either way, if AU decides to fire Gus, they need to keep Steele. He’s a quality DC.

Yall are delusional. Florida kicked your arse straight up. You got squarely beat in all 3 of your losses. It's not like any of them were decided by some fluke hail mary BS or anything like that.

Since you like statistics so much...

Cam Newton $120k or more poor year in college.

Go home Aubbie. We are done with you and your little fan base.

AU was in every game they lost. Lost to UGA by 7, lost to LSU by 4 (?) and lost to UF because of a long run. AU’s weakness is their execution on offense. They sorely need better QB play.

There are a lot of reason why it would be best for Auburn to move on...however they won't move on and probably shouldn't.

Worst case scenario he goes 8-5 with loses to ranked opponents including likely 4 possibly 5 in the top ten with a win over 1 highly ranked team.

Likely scenario he goes 9-4 with loses to ranked opponents including likely 3 possibly 4 in the top ten with a win over 2 highly ranked teams .

Possible scenario he goes 10-3 with loses to ranked opponents including likely 2 possibly 3 in the top ten with a win over 3 highly ranked teams.

Bo Nix (true freshman), had his worst game of the season by far. He was 11 of 27 for 145 yards, 1 TD and 3 picks. That's HALF of his picks this season. Eventually our D got tired because they couldn't get off the field. In spite of that, AU was within striking distance until the long run late in the 4th. That is also the only game AU lost this season by more than 1 score. Did you not watch the game? I'M delusional? lol

In any event, I'm not trying to defend AU...I'm saying that firing Gus is trying to fix what does not appear to be broken. All 3 losses were very close games...and Auburn could very easily, with just a little better QB play, be undefeated right now.

With Tua out, I’d bet y’all will beat Bama.

Maybe...their D isn't great...but they are good enough to keep AU's offense in check and if Bo never gets in a rhythm, they'll win I'm sure. I give AU 50/50 only because of Tua. Who knows though....Bama could come out playing inspired "this one's for Tua" ball and just maul us. We'll see.

Wrong, if Florida State can come up with 18 million to replace Coach Taggert should not be a problem. However it would be a stupid move based on QB Nix being a seasoned veteran next yr & Auburn beats Bama, Lsu wins the division.
