But with Malzahns statements preseason he has to own it.

In the end if anything it will just get rules passed to try to stop players from doing this, which Gus said he wanted preseason. So Gus gets to be a smartass to Bret and get the rules passed. A Win Win for Gus.

I was a kid with brain cancer, you insensitive son-of-a-bitch.

In any event, the point I was making with the analogy was that he way overdid it. Which we both agree on.

I dont think it will. How can you prove an injury? You cant make a team a team call timeout every time a player is hurt. So how do you fix it? The player can't play the rest of the game? You can be hurt and not be injured.

Make the players sit for the rest of the series if a timeout has to be called by the refs. It gives the "safety first" coaches time to make sure the players are fine and cuts down on the number players a coach that has them faking can use. Plus if that coach uses a 3rd or 4th string guy, they have a sorry player on the field for a play, leaving them open to a play on him.

What kind of knee injury would make a person suddenly collapse like that?

You are making it sound like there is a flop after every down. Teams use a hunh to get an advantage. Which puts the others at a disadvantage. This equals out the game. Right?

Just like the ones drag this case on and on like it affected the game so much. Everything every team does is to try to give them an advantage. All HUNH does is to allow the Offense to run a play so the Defense can't see what they are doing. That is no different than shifting the defense at the last second. Both teams are having to go at the same pace so the smaller more stamina guys doesn't work in their favor no more than teams having a big physical offense that are stronger than the other's defense. The ones whining just want the game to favor the defense and is why only defensive coaches whine about it.

If football turned into what the people whining about the HUNH wanted, we would have teams line up and sit there for so many seconds so both sides could see what the other is doing with slowly with no shifting. The games would be longer and more boring like defensive football games.

HUNH was designed for less talented teams to compete. Plain and simple. Its not a new concept.

And Nick Saban was one who was worried about player safety. How many points a game has his team scored this year?

Well I hate to break it to you that even after all his whining your great Saban has even said he is considering going to it.

There don't seem to be so many holding onto that rehtoric as there used to be. But since he said it, i'll bite.

I couldn't care less if the perceived less talented team is winning...you konw why, because this game isn't about who looks better on paper, it's about winning the game. So if we can put our cheerleaders out there and scheme it up to where we beat a more talented team, then it makes me question if that more talented team is really that talented if they can't adjust to a style of play to beat a team they're in all ways superior.

Aren't you the smart one.

Army's use to line up 50 yards apart and fire muskets at one another. Things evolve, you should grasp that concept. Or you should write the NCAA and request that we go back to leather helmets.

Here is him saying he wants what benefits his team like other defensive coaches. You can claim it was what you want but it is still whining.

LINK

Here is him saying he wants to go faster. Therefore showing he is not really worried about the players getting hurt or doesn't really care.

LINK

Either way it shows he is worried about getting his team the advantage and not letting the other. Not player safety like he claimed when he started.
