Trooper did a very good job this year. I cant say I care for his antics but his receivers played well and actually appeared to be well coached despite his rep as mainly a recruiter. However I have heard some rumors from at least one very credible source that he is looking elsewhere as well. He could even leave with Gus.
Anyone was an upgrade from Greg Knox at that point...

Better beat Oregon before you say that.

So that's the argument? I thought it was about taking lots of jobs.
You think I was arguing? He's had 5 jobs in 6 years. Not much to argue.

How'd that work out for the two fat asses?
No worse than it would've had Towelboy been allowed to call plays. The only reason he was retained for the 07 season was because the Cutcliffe/Trooper combo would've landed Terelle Pryor.
Fulmer's inability to adapt and Trooper's immaturity and ego both played a part in the failure.

Anyone else confirming this report yet. I tend to think it is true, but I am awaiting confirmation before I start the search for the next guy.

Nothing out of Nashville yet, no Auburn sites confirming the story.
We'll just have to wait and see.

I am sure he will sign some type agreement not the actual contract. As far as leaving before the NC that is not likely but he will be working on hiring his staff and working with that staff to recruit until he gets there.

Can't believe that Auburn's head coach would want to go to Vanderbilt. He must know the ship is sinking.

Come on GBO, you can do better than that

I'm sure Trooper is a good guy, I don't have any reason to believe he isn't

yep gus must know the heat of the ncaa is on them. its kinda like smus' head coach leaving in 81. he knew what was up

That is a surprise, but he knows Cam did not come to AU because he wanted to major in Sociology which he is not even going to classes in. In fact the only classes he took this season are online and AU offers no Sociology classes online.

Hey, what is funny to me about Gus and his name in print (regardless of what the topic may be) is how Hogville has more posts about it than his current fan's team message board.
Gus to Vandy will gather 20 pages of arguing about 2006 over there. Unreadable arse whipping.

how do you take a online class when you throw your laptop you bought out of a window?
