Walk me through him getting fired after the 3rd season. He gonna go 8-4, 7-5, 7-5 or something?
10-2, 10-2, 10-2 with no championships might get him fired from Bama. Anywhere else? Nah

He's absolutely recruiting well but I've never seen Bama fans on this board push a narrative so hard.

Look at the classes Jimbo had at faggy. Same result incoming.

A&M purchased one #1 class and there was a mass exodus the following offseason.

If you think Jimbo's ancient offensive philosophy is anywhere close to what DeBoer will run and has had success with, you may be a dawg fan.

He did good. I'm not saying he didn't. But he never won it. It doesn't necessarily translate that easily. Bama still recruits on their name under saban. If deboer has a couple 3-4 loss seasons that luster might fade

He did better than good.

Sark was a former coach of Washington. He could only win 7 wins a season while there, earning him the nickname "7 win sark".

Despite Sark being at the blue blood of Texas, Sark is 0-2 against DeBoer. Texas faced Washington/DeBoer twice in recent years, and Texas lost both times.

Peterson was a much better coach @ Washington than Sark, and they actually made the playoffs one year, but they lost in the first round. DeBoer however took them further than any coach in the past 30 years.

Lanning another popular name that comes up. Yet despite Oregon/Lanning recruiting in the top5 consistently, Lanning is 0-3 against DeBoer @ Washington.

People who name Kiffin are a joke. Not that he is a terrible coach, just that he is terribly immature and no where near responsible enough to take over a program of Alabama's stature.

So outside Kirby Smart, it looks to me like Alabama hired the best coach possible.

It's just hilarious given what some of your dumber corndog brethren were preaching just a couple of months ago about his lack of recruiting prowess. Nothing wrong with keeping receipts.

There aren’t any facts. The has only been coaching for 3 years
OP, just stop. Your stance is not winnable. Deboer is currently #2 in recruiting and will probably finish #1 or #2.

His "recruiting" at Ole Miss kind of drives this point home. Building a short-term contender with the transfer portal wouldn't work at 'Bama.

So you're saying that, under the same rules as everybody else, he was able to build a roster that beat everyone except Michigan and that's a bad thing? Did other schools not know about this covid waiver policy?

Texas didn't know? Oregon?

Seems like good coaching and roster building to me.

He would 100% get extended because in today’s climate that is 2-3 playoff berths. The 12-team playoff and likely the 16-team in 5-6 years happened at a great time for Alabama. Nobody is going to dominate the regular season grind like Saban, Alabama will lose more - and sometimes inexplicably - but the qualifications to get yourself into title contention has been relaxed.

This take at present does not look good.

It is July and in today’s recruiting realities some of Alabama’s commits will get bought out from under them but consequently Alabama will do the same to other school’s prospects. So, the class is likely to still be top 5 though the composition may differ than how it looks now.

Simply put, the expectation that the post-Saban decline would be due to talent deprivation under NIL and a less elite recruiter at head coach just doesn’t seem to be very likely right now.

They probably need to move the narrative towards Alabama’s player development being worse now even though Saban had some pretty bad staffs between 2018-2023 with the only reprieve being the Sark and Flood years in 2019 and 2020.
