No, they played the game differently, but the rules were almost exactly the same. 4 downs, 6 pts TD, 1 pt extra point, 3 pt field goal, 100 yard fields.
There is a reason 1912 is called the start to the modern era. It's when the rules were established that basically still exist to this day.

If you were to take a time machine to the 1920s, you could still watch a game of college football and understand what was going on. Alabama was running a single wing offense in those days, an offense that is still used by high school teams to this very day.
If you were to take a time machine to 1908 and watch LSU play football, you would have a hard time understanding what was going on.

Y'all didn't play in and win the Rose Bowl in 1941, that's for sure.
Anyone who defends 1941 should be gagged.

Agreed.
As I said before, any championship recognized by a university, from 1936 and onward, that wasn't awarded by the AP or Coaches, isn't a legitimate championship claim.
Of course this changes once we get into the era of the BCS and College Football Playoff. But you get my point.

So why is okay for Bama to retroactively claim titles but not anyone else?

Where did you get this? Lots of schools do it. TAMU just did it I believe. USC claimed another natty title just a few years ago

Korin- I think you've worked yourself up so much that you've even confused yourself. You're making no sense and attacking things that weren't even said. Calm down little buddy and have a beer. It's Friday and football is back!

I believe I have repudiated that championship claim twice in the last two pages. Shall I make it a third? 1941 should NOT be recognized by The University of Alabama as a national championship season.

Saban was scared to death. He ever tried a fake punt. Colt would have put them up 14-0. Saban needs to keep kErRY MUrpHey on payroll for life.

McElroy had cracked ribs before the game started. Couldn't pass very well. He got hurt during the SEC Title Game.
No way to know if Tejas would've won or not.
Do they get a what if trophy?

It's getting harder and harder to troll daddy these days. Maybe you guys should stick to the sister jokes....

Amazing how Colt was going to dominate Alabama, yet the play he gets hurt on resulted in a one-yard loss.

Hell they are trolling about something that happened over 3 national championships ago. I love it.
