In NBA conversations I've always heard of Shaq being Batman and Kobe being Robin.
Interesting hearing the opposite on here.
Shaq won a title in Miami too.
However, Chris Jackson aka Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf was definitely the more skilled player while Shaq was the most dominant.
Also, I don't think people should put too much into # of all-star games.
It's a popularity contest mostly.

For Ole Miss, Gerald Glass deserves a mention…

Maybe change the title of this thread to greatest professional basketball player from each SEC school. That way people won’t be confused by your misleading title.

Ole Miss- Johnny Neumann (Did most of his damage in the ABA before the merger. All ABA rookie team. Coaches felt he didn't pass the ball or really make the team better. Scoring average went down from there. Played two seasons in the NBA after the merge and did nothing of consequence. Hard to say if he's better than the better role players Ole Miss has had since in the NBA. The ABA was good but still considered inferior to the NBA. I'll give him the nod due to his ABA exploits.)

Lol jesus

In his prime the man was damn near unstoppable. There is a reason the Hack-a-Shaq philosophy on defense was born. Hakeem, Yao Ming, and David Robinson(to a lesser extent) were really the only players that were able to effectively guard him.

Not a Pistol Pete fan I see.
uh...Shaq is maybe the most physically imposing center of all time with multiple championships to his name. Pete was a good college player.
It's like SC claiming John Roche is our best ever because he was one of the few multi time ACC POTY, when in reality Alex English was far better.
*Roche was the first to hit 7 threes in a quarter in the NBA tho
