I don’t think Simone was born in Texas but she grew up, trained, and lives in Spring.

I think I saw he grew up an Alabama fan but Bear Botched his in home by telling him he wouldnt play for 2 years and Pat Dye told him he could play right away.

Was he? I know he grew up in Houston, went to UH, and played the end of his career for Houston, went on to coach at UH, and now does tv for the Houston Rockets.

Larry Doby. Was a little overshadowed by Jackie Robinson but actually had more HR and RBI than Robinson
