So posting about the opponent my team is getting ready to play = obsession?

Yes, and you're delusional if you don't believe it.

Of course you're butthurt if you do, so it's lose-lose.

Gotcha. Fits the profile of the t-shirt fan. Disguised, apparently

Irrational hatred towards non rival doesn't add up.

Goldennugget, isn't your real team playing for the iron skillet this weekend? So stop aggsessing and go celebrate, because it's the only trophy TCU is going to win this year.

Could be a Greg Featherston situation. Longhorn alum, works at TCU AD, fired for showing his arse on social media

Saw the title -- thought you were going to post about 58-10. You know, that little game that followed a year later, was the largest winning margin, highest score posted in the 102 year history of the series, etc...

Hmm, well keeping in the spirit of the direction that this thread has turned...

It was late in the 1991 season as the 12th Ranked Fightin' Texas Aggies rolled into Ft. Worth on a Thursday night to take on the hapless... er.. I mean the mighty... yeah the mighty TCU Horned Frogs in front of a nationally televised ESPN audience.

For most of four quarters the overmatched Aggies struggled to keep up the Horned Frogs before a few lucky breaks enabled the visiting Aggies to escape the Metroplex with a hard fought 44-7 victory.

The defining moment of the game was an otherwise uneventful pass breakup by Texas A&M linebacker Quentin Coryatt on TCU wide receiver Kyle McPherson that ESPN would inexplicably later name the "Hit of the Year" in college football.

The HIT

The next week saw the Fightin' Texas Aggies return to the friendly confines of Kyle Field where they defeated the Arkansas Razorbacks en route to another Southwest Conference championship.

TCU wouldn't be in the BDF if it weren't for A&M's move to the SEC. Gotta be happy about that

You're not using the right perspective.

Remember the timeframe that all the realignment activities happened: Summer-Fall 2011.

TCU ended the 2010 season fresh off a Rose Bowl victory over Wisconsin and a final ranking of #2. They had just agreed to join the Big East Conference, finally getting their shot into a BCS league after leaving the lesser schools in the Mountain West. They saw the writing on the wall after their primary competition in the conference, Utah, got an invite to a BCS league (PAC 12) over them.

With Boise State joining the Mountain West effective for the 2011 season, they were just going to bide their time before finally taking their place amongst the elite in Texas, especially after a disastrous 2010 season for the Longhorns.

Lo and behond, August and September 2011 happens and the SEC accepts Texas A&M as its 13th member. WTF!! How can this be?! TCU is the #1 team in the state of Texas, not Aggy!!! Combine that with the impending collapse of the Big East and they saw their prospects for relevance dwindling DESPITE their recent success.

When they joined the Big 12, DeLoss Dodds and all of the sip media claimed that "TCU is an upgrade over A&M" and that was used to shut Baylor up. Furthermore, TCU finally was vindicated after the breakup of the Southwest Conference and given the lifeline they so deserved.

Nevermind the fact that, to this day, they still do not have a full member's share in their new conference in year 3, they considered themselves better than the Aggies and the Longhorns.

Then 2012 happens: A&M goes 11-2 in the SEC, Johnny Manziel wins the Heisman, and TCU goes 7-6 in the Big 12.

Then 2013 happens: A&M goes 9-4 in year 2 of the SEC while TCU goes 4-8...and just like that, TCU is rendered irrelevant, and it's all because of A&M. It's A&M's fault that Baylor filled the power vacuum left by A&M. It's A&M's fault that TCU was unable to capitalize on the Horned Frogs' 2010 season, etc.

So when you look at it from THAT perspective, it makes sense.
