I can't see the link at work, but I haven't personally seen anything that would make me call meyer a "great man".

You are a Georgia fan. But, I would agree. It was basically about him giving up coaching for his family.

So? I would acknowledge that Tebow is a great individual. Since I can't click the link, tell me exactly what makes Meyer such a great man?

Yep...you can lose to Auburn and still win a championship...
He was a good coach though.

I turned it off because if I want to type something that is just slang it corrects it and I have to retype it over like three times. Really pisses me off.

That is a really great video and puts everything in perspective. Best of luck to Meyer. He looked very happy there.

So I guess this makes you an "arsekicker" via proxy according to some warped, inbred, neck logic?

Saban also made his wife quit cooking.

Look, SI did a nice job of composing a sentimental piece that tugged at the heart strings, and there is a lot of merit to the decision Urban made and why he made it. HOWEVER... spoken by none other than a Gator man, and someone who will always appreciate Meyer for what he did on the football field, I have to stop short of heralding him for the resignation.

Working at ESPN takes one far away from north-central Florida, not to mention the traveling across the nation and back on assignment. If I had my hunches, I would say Urban will be back coaching in a year or 2. The family thing is nice, but Urban is, in a way, a willing slave to the game.

He knew no other way to operate as a coach than to immerse himself in the day-in, day-out so much it became a detriment to his well being. In doing so, he achieved a great deal of success. But that's the Urban modus operandi, and soon enough he'll be unable to keep from jumping back in.
