However, America can't police the world. However, we also shouldn't give up our strategic global positions to repay a debt of from a past election interference scandal.
The strong hold in the Kurds held for us benefitted all Americans and weakened our enemy, Russia.
Providing public support both verbally and with economic military support to Ukraine helped our global goals of preventing the spread of Russia's brand of fascism to Europe.
Sanctioning Russia for their actions keeps a pathetic economy pathetic and irrelevant, so creating conspiracy theories for the purpose of angling to remove those sanctions threatens my security as an American as Russian strengthens its global position.
Russia works like the REC, ruthless and efficient.

Liberals loved Mother Russia until Trump won the election.
Hillary's fake dossier used Russian sources about Trump to get the FISA surveillance warrants on his campaign.

Maybe that is why I'm especially bothered with Trump selling out to Russia. Heck, we've all seen Red Dawn. We know who the enemy is...not brown people, not liberals, not American White Nationalist...It's Russia.
Sort of the way SEC fans view bama.

You do realize the party we put in power in the 2014 Ukrainan coup directly descends from neo-fascists? And they were just swept out of power in a huge defeat. And Crimea was a part of Russia from the early 18th century to the 1950's, when they were ceded to the Ukrainian SSR overnight with zero input from their population. Over 60% of the population is Russian, speaks Russian and belongs to the Russian Orthodox Church. Their "invasion" of Crimea was simply a response to our government's own coup.

I agree...Dabo is sincere. Said it earlier in this thread. However, it's possible to be sincerely wrong. There are people in this thread arguing points sincerely but they are wrong.

That's the thing. I don't believe our involvement there was misguided. It was done with the purpose of protecting our National Security. Turn off OAN and read some no bias reporting from time to time.

I read Stephen Cohen, Princeton and NYU Professor and one-time MSNBC and The Nation contributor, until they decided to channel their inner John McCain and Bill Kristol.

I am a Christian but I find Dabo’s comments a bit odd. Do you REALLY believe that God picks who will win a football game.

You've never been a part of a major college football team if you have to ask this question.

nobody's ever explained why Russia would prefer Trump to Hillary given Russia took Crimea when she was Sec of State and Democrats have always been soft on Russia.
Crazy Bernie went on his frickin honeymoon to the USSR lol and he gushed about it
Trump is the last person in the world that Russia could blackmail. lol nobody thinks he's a choir boy

I like Coach Bobby Bowden:
(paraphrase)
“We never prayed to win. We prayed for two things. One, that no one got hurt. Two, that we played our best.”
Dabo overdoes it. A lot.

Actually, it's pretty clearly spelled out in the Mueller Report. I realize anyone who has chosen to view it Pharisetical won't understand but Russian didn't start out to "help" Trump the original disinformation campaign was to sow seeds of dissension in the US political election. Early on the Russian's clearly used online measures to benefit Trump in the primary and Bernie Sanders. The main negative recipients were Hillary and Marco. Russia a bit surprised by the success went all in on Trump in the general election. This info isn't hard to find from non bias sourcing.
Once Russia compromised Trump he became an asset. I'd say based on the weakening of our US global positions and the strengthening of Russia's in the last 2 years one might say he's become a valuable asset.
It is similar to the way Dabo road the underdog card to such success that he now routinely beats Saban and bama on the recruiting trail. It wasn't the long term goal, but it has become a nice by-product.
You don't have to blackmail the corrupt...you only have to offer them something of value they want. They will always play ball.
