More relevant than college baseball. Sorry.
I don't generally agree with you, Busey... but on a national scale, this is a fact.

I think that poster was talking about the big 3. Which lets be honest should be weighted heavier when judging the success of a program.

By who? The country can't even agree on what the big three is?

Cmon dude, we care about women's basketball to pony up for a legitimate coach you know.

What you fail to understand is that baseball isn't part of "the big 3" in most parts of the country. That's why it's not worth more points. In most of the country there is only "the big 2".
I'm not saying I agree 100% with the Capital One Cup.

Well in the SEC it's pretty clear what the big 3 are.

Maybe you should invent your own "Capital One Cup" for the SEC? I don't know what to tell you, bud.

In the SEC. And FTR we're doing pretty well in two of those.
So if we're only counting the "Big 3" isn't Kentucky as good as LSU right now by that logic?

I understand that. The big three varies depending in the region, but I would say the SEC is baseball football basketball. The same for the pac10. Now up north youre looking at hockey or lacrosse, but I bet those programs put about the same amount of money in those sports as we do into baseball.

I think anyone could make an arguement that the big 3 doesn't include baseball is the North/Northeast.
Everywhere else, baseball is bigger than hockey/lacrosse.

Yes if we are looking at this season alone. But keep in mind this baseball season is not over and we have yet to see how Kentucky handles post season baseball.

Why do we have to put a name to it? Can't we just grade an athletic program based on what we see?

Yea, but they're all three so unpopular in those areas that the argument is moot anyways.

Sure, you can even make up some fancy plaques if you want.

Gloating? No. Just used it to prove a point.
