NFL is the pros though, so it is by simple reality the top tier football league.

The NFL wouldn't be around today if not for CFB.

That's nice, this is a college board, I don't expect a lot of you to be more hardcore NFL fans. Especially in SEC country. There's a lot of things to dislike both. NFL is the pros though, so it is by simple reality the top tier football league.

There's a lot people that like high school ball over both, no issue with liking a lower tier league at all, but if you deny the NFL is the show just would be simply ridiculous.

My appreciation for the NFL has grown from practically zero a few years ago to being somewhat interested and a bit of a Saints fan since my brother moved there a few years ago and I moved to the Gulf Coast a few years ago.

Having said that, I just think the NFL atmosphere is way too corporate and sterile. I remember going to a Monday night football game in N.O. with the Saints vs. the Cowboys in 1994 (early to mid 90s Super Bowl level Cowboys) and even that atmosphere was painfully sterile and boring. No marching bands, no truly intrastate or close by all encompassing rivalries, non inter conference banter (i.e. SEC/Big Ten fans going at it...no one in the NFL gives a s### if an AFC East team is better than an NFC East team, etc.), and getting to play for a championship with a non-winning regular season record. All MAJOR strikes against the NFL.

Outside of maybe Pittsburgh, Green Bay, Kansas City, and maybe 1 or 2 other places (like New Orleans recently), there aren't any fanbases/venues as consistently loud and as passionate as many in the college game.

Don't just skimp...$7.5 million would be fair. Don't just give enough to get past Mack. Doesn't football make over 100 mil a year at alabama?
