Should Dial's hit been called for 15. IMO Absolutely. It was completely flagrant and unnecessary and could've seriously injured Murray.

But there were blown calls all over the place.

2nd qtr 12:06 -missed block in back by Georgia on the run back. Happened right in front of the official.

3rd qtr 6:42- Bama was driving but it was 3rd and 7. Pass interference by Ga was overturned bc they claimed ball was tipped by Cornelius Washington. Couldn't detect any touch or defection on the replay. This led to 4th and 7 when Bama tried a 50 yard fg that was blocked and returned for a TD by Ga. Should never have happened. But that's more of an issue that Foster shouldn't have been out there to begin with.

4th qtr 12:45. After GA went up 28-25 on ensuing kickoff Bama got away with a block in the back. Jones fumbled the return and recovered. Doing the time when the officials were trying to get everyone off the pile # 2 for S Dawson sticks his finger through Millner # 28's facemask and pokes him in the eye. Millner shoved him and a flag was called on him when Dawson definitely deserved a flag himself

ead or shoulder it was a late hit and was unnecessary roughness. Should have been 15 yards. And if you really think this hit was OK, then you have to think that the (not) late hit on McCarron was BS and should not have been a penalty.

Two entirely different situations. McCarron, after passing, is called a "defenseless player" and is protected by specific rules as to how he can be hit, much like a player fielding a punt. Murray, after the int, became a defensive player and can be blocked, as long as it is not by the crown of the helmet striking the player first. Obviously Dial's shoulder was the first part of his body to make contact with Murray and at no point did the crown of his helmet make contact so under even a loose interpretation this would not qualify as a helmet-to-helmet hit.
You should read the rules sometimes, you might enjoy the game more.

Jesus H Christ, go read the rule and you wont sound like such an idiot. Defenseless player cannot be hit with helmet, shoulder or forearm. Totally different than the rules on helmet-to-helmet and blocking.

Here, so you dont strain yourself with actual research:
Player: Contact to Head or Neck Area
ARTICLE 4. No player shall target and initiate contact to the head or neck area of a defenseless opponent with the helmet, forearm, elbow or shoulder. When in question, it is a foul (Rules 2-27-14 and 9-6)."

All that matters is if he lead with the crown of his helmet, which it is clear he did not.

Here is the rule:

nitiating Contact/Targeting an Opponent
ARTICLE 3. a. No player shall initiate contact and target an opponent with the crown (top) of his helmet. When in question, it is a foul.
b. No player shall initiate contact and target a defenseless opponent above the shoulders. When in question, it is a foul. (Refer to Points of Emphasis on FR-9 for a description of “Defenseless Player.”)
PENALTY (a-B.)—Personal foul. 15 yards from the basic spot, or 15 yards from the succeeding spot for dead-ball fouls. Also, automatic first down for fouls by Team B if not in conflict with other rules. (Exception: Penalties for offensive team personal fouls behind the neutral zone are enforced from the previous spot. Safety if the foul occurs behind Team A’s goal line) [S7, S24, S34, S38, S39, S40, S41, S45 or S46]. Flagrant offenders shall be disqualified [S47].

No - it's dirty because Saban runs a dirty program and instructs cheapshots - e.g. this hit for example and the Missouri Suplex...you dumb motherfricker. Learn how to fricking read.

We'll see what kind of integrity Saban has if he sits Dial for the next game. If he doesn't sit him and allows this kind of shite from his players, who knows what else he allows.
