Good God, you are freaking dumb. If you hit helmet to helmet on the QB as he is throwing the ball at all....it is a penalty. That rule doesn't apply to a QB jogging to make a tackle.
A helmet to helmet hit is a f'n helmet to helmet hit dumbass. Doesn't matter when or how it happens. Bottom line is, if Jarvis Jones did this to Gay J yesterday, you all would be bitching and crying about. Especially is no flag was thrown. Gumps gonna Gump.

Im sorry, i just dont understand what he did wrong. Was Murray a defender? Yes. Was the play live? Yes. Was he in front of the play moving towards our ball carrier? Yes.
Please, refute any of that.
Where is the outcry for dbs or st players that get blown up?

You obviously don't know the rules.

It was a blatant H2H hit. What can't you Gumptards understand about that?

I guess what my point is ... with Trae's hit yes the guy was a DEFENSELESS player where as MURRAY'S WAS NOT but if the issue is HELMET-2-HELMET CONTACT ... Why do you pick and chose where to apply rulings???
The line has to be drawn somewhere. Every H2H hit is dangerous, but you can't penalize the defense everytime a LB makes H2H contact when tackling a RB. The line they chose to draw was when the hit occurs on a defenseless player.
I think it's also a penalty to light up a player not involved in the play even if it's not H2H. Was Murray involved in the play? If Murray was just standing there or was 20 yards behind the play, it probably would've been flagged but he was in front of the play and jogging toward the ball carrier.

It was unnecessary roughness...

So you think everytime a LB makes H2H contact when tackling a RB it should be a penalty?
The rules have been posted several times ITT; I recommend reading them.

(2) A receiver attempting to catch a pass; or who has completed a catch and has not had time to protect himself or has not clearly become a runner…
(3) A runner already in the grasp of a tackler and whose forward progress has been stopped;
(4) A kickoff or punt returner attempting to field a kick in the air;
(5) A player on the ground;
(6) A kicker/punter during the kick or during the return…
(7) A quarterback at any time after a change of possession…
(8) A player who receives a “blindside” block when the blocker is moving toward or parallel to his own end line and approaches the opponent from behind or from the side, and
(9) A player who is protected from an illegal crackback block.

If the SEC is serious about sending a message - and this is both helmet to helmet AND protecting the QB after an INT so Ds don't target them - then they have no choice but to follow prior precedent and suspend him for the next game - so the title game.
Anything short of that, and it will be obvious that they are going to just selectively enforce this so it looks like they care while still protecting the top 2-4 schools in the national rankings.
I think this is where Gumps & Non-Gumps start having an issue ... Someone said it earlier in tThread that this is not the football of the 70's and plays like that just don't belong anymore.

I know there NFL rules but stil this is in play because its different because its the QB ... I hate to admit that but its true because it happened to the QB the rabble starts to rise...
Seriously What would you say if that was AJ???

None of those fit the criteria. Murray was moving to the return man. Had he moved to his sideline or stayed away from the pocket, then there would have been an issue. He was hit squarely between the numbers in the front of his jersey.

It was a dirty play. That's all there is to it. It's over with now, no sense in bitching about it. We still get shite for Fairleys hit.
