Agreed. You are correct. I can't expect SEC fans to know the difference between Tier 2 and Tier 3 content because it doesn't matter anymore. I will slow my roll, thank you for talking sense into me. I do think the ones with an IQ above 100 should be expected to know BASIC SEC Network information, like the fact that it is paid per cable subscriber, for the same reason I know what man coverage is in football.
You are wrong about one thing: Tier 4 can be worth a TON of money

The University of Alabama is set to capitalize on its success over the last five years by signing one of the nation’s most lucrative multimedia rights deals with Learfield Sports worth at least $150 million to $160 million over 10 years.

I know not all of the $15 million goes back to Bama because some of that is buying back old rights and stuff, but they are going to net way more than $1.3 million a year from that deal. I am not saying we need to beat the drum about how unfair that is because at some level a Bama is always going to have an edge over a MSU. If it wasn't the Tier 4 deal it would at the ticket office, or in donations. Even the B1G that shares the most its not equal. What matters is most of it is shared. I just was grasping at straws.
Oh and I do have the 100 Year Decision, I was a pre-order. I have not read it yet for sentimental reasons though-I know as soon as I do the SEC expansion chapter of my SEC fandom is done. I am not ready to let go yet, which is obvious to all when I am over here lecturing SEC (read: football) fans about media rights deals. I probably know everything in the book without reading it because back then I was the dumbass eWarrior that tried to live it. I knew then this book would eventually be made, and that it would signal the end. I guess it is time to let go, that was a fun ride...
