I'm really interested to see how UGA fairs this year. Kirby obviously knows what he is doing and can coach very very well. I want to see how he handles the mental aspect of the players. It might not be as difficult this year because every one (coaches/fans/team) are still hungry for a national championship.
With the amount of turn over this year, coupled with last years success is the UGA team of 2018 going to be similar to the Bama team of 2010?
After a championship run in 2009, I remember Saban telling everyone, teams are not going to roll over for you, just because you have that Crimson jersey on. Proved to be the case.
I think this is Urban Meyers problem at his stops. Being able to maintain the mental edge and hunger for is players.
I am extremely interested to see of Kirby has learned/mastered this technique from Saban as well. May be another year or two before we truly get to see this, simply based on the fact of the team didn't accomplish all their goals; however, after winning the SEC and having some success I could see where it would be easy to rest on your accomplishments and expect some teams (especially in the east) to roll over for them.
Well, first we didn't win it all. There is still something to achieve. Second, your division was a lot tougher than ours. Auburn obviously doesn't figure to be as good as their 2010 version and LSU doesn't figure to be as good either. Of course, no one in the East would compare to those teams.
One thing that is similar is your offense had a lot returning and your defense was almost a complete makeover. I would say it's possible we're not as good as last year and still end up 12-0 or 11-1 again. But outside of something like Auburn 2010 happening (totally unforeseen), I don't think we'll lose 3.

We've got a chance against Georgia. Playing them early in the year gives us a much bigger advantage than it would Week 5 and beyond.

but this is Kirby's third year and that matters

Didn't know that a three year tenure would guarantee winning. Good stuff.
There is a disconnect somewhere. I keep looking but I don't see where he said it guaranteed anything. He said it mattered....which it does. Do you want to argue that point?

Because he has a keyboard and knows how to use it. Okay. He has a keyboard and semi-knows how to use it. Okay. because he has a keyboard, but has no idea how to use it.

Agree. 9-3 with losses at SC, at LSU, and at MIZ.

Doubtful. SCAR will be a good game, as will LSU, but I think we will win. Mizzou? I think we will win that one, too. Best chance to lose is Auburn.

This isn't a Mark Richt coached team. You can throw that mindset out of the window, baw.

UGA fans feel the same way about SCAR, considering your team is breaking in an OC who has never called plays. So yeah, I like UGA’s chances in that aspect.

You're a dumb Alabama hick. There is not an ounce of class in that entire state.

It removes the chance of us overlooking sc.

UGA won't lose a single game in the regular season, so this is beyond the normal level of crazy of the rant.

Here's what UGA loses from last years team.
2500 rushing yards.
Their leading WR,
3 of their top 5 in tackles
3 of the top 4 in sacks and
Their leader in INT's
No matter how you slice it, and how much talent they have, that's a lot for any team to absorb.

He has to be kidding, right? Is he trying to make Alabama fans look bad, or is it just an unfortunate side effect?
