Jesus, Clemson fans make Ohio State's group look like a bunch of Rhodes Scholars.
He isn't saying Tennessee would beat Clemson. He is saying Tennessee beat a good ACC team in response to the "ACC dominance of the SEC".

The conversation was on Georgia Tech against Tennessee the entire time
He's trying to make a transitive property out of me responding to the comment about The ACC "dominating" the SEC, when I implied that Tennessee is 1-0 against the ACC... He literally made a transitive property about nothing but bull shite
Talk about a reach.

That V tech team in september was not very good tho. The ACC coastal isn't very good either. Its not like Tennessee beat the second best team in the ACC.

No one said that. That is just your insecurity flaring up. It was about Tennessee vs the ACC in general. I would call VT a good ACC team, if not then you are admitting the ACC is a weak conference since VT dragged some teams.

Actually now that I look at it who was the ACC's second best team? FSU? Louisville turned out to be fool's gold like most suspected.

Tennessee would probably finish 4th in the Atlantic behind Clemson, FSU and Louisville

They lost to Syracuse in October. Again, VT improved through out the year with a first year coach and qb. A win against them in September of last year isnt very impressive.

When your argument is 100% speculation and conjecture then you have a weak argument.
Posted on 6/29/17 at 11:52 pm to Kraven Moorehed
What is speculation and conjecture? Tennessee lost to Vanderbilt and South Carolina. Two below average football teams. Lost to A&M who is pretty average. Tennessee vs Nc State would be a close game.

Speculation-the forming of a theory or conjecture without firm evidence.
Conjecture-an opinion or conclusion formed on the basis of incomplete information.
My bad buddy, I didn't know you were retarded. Carry on.

Tennessee is really brought down by poor coaching.
The injuries were a major factor last year as well though.
I think Tennesssee was probably one of the 10 most talented teams in America last year.
If you give someone who is a capable football coach that roster there is no reason they could not have been right there with FSU.
Certainly they were much more talented than Louisville top to bottom.
With the coaching deficiency and injuries I would say 3rd-4th in the ACC is about right. Louisville and Tennessee both had major issues but Lamar Jackson would have been a nightmare for that depleted D.

I don't mind Tennessee. Im a fan of Shy tuttle, Perrys nephew. And I think they will beat GT to open the season. Win over Georgia at home and you guys will be in Atlanta. Florida will slip up

As a GT fan I am excited about this matchup. Been looking forward to it ever since it was announced. Lot's of history between our programs.
GT should be ready to go. We are the deepest we have been in a long time on the DL and our secondary is always good and we are experienced this year back there. LB is a little weak. Our run D has been really good under Roof and with extra reinforcments and the emergence of Brandon Adams on the DL we should remain formidable in run D.
On offense we return a lot in the key areas. At BBack we return who I think has a chance to be all ACC in Dedrick Mills. Tough to tackle and is almost automatic in short yardage and goal line situations. A plethora of experience at A-back which will great help first year STARTER Matthew Jordan if they can continue to execute their exterior blocks. I highlight starter because he is a redshirt junior. He has started games before at Miami and at VT last year, where he performed beautifully executing the option offense and won convincingly in Blacksburg which is a very tough place to play. Very impressive for him to play the way he played only learning he was starting only mere minutes from kickoff for the injured Justin Thomas. Matthew is a good bit bigger than Thomas was. 215 and 6 feet vs. 180 and 5'9" Thomas. Matthew allows Paul Johnson to run the midline option which is a key play in short yardage 3rd and 4th down to extend drives. The midline puts the numbers advantage highly in GT's favor. Nesbitt was famous for short and Nesbitt because of this play design. Justin Thomas was not big enough to execute this play. You have to have the size to withstand some resistance from the opposing line.
To those who think GT lost a lot, you are uninformed. GT returns a lot of experience. We have redshirted well the last few classes and they have meaningful experience, not to mention we do return 16 starters. As well as the number 1 ranked kicker and punter in the nation from the last class.
Also, to the uninformed, GT's CUT blocking (not the ignorantly named CHOP blocking) has resulted in no more injuries to an opposing DL than a prostyle offense. Ask UGA how many players they have lost over the years due to our cut blocks. UGA plays us every year and of all the teams we play their fans do not bitch about our blocking. Those who do bitch are uninformed and quite frankly are setting up their excuse making early should they lose. GT did use cut blocking more frequently in 2008-2011 in Paul's first few years as we were severely undersized on our line averaging about 280 lbs. per player and using converted tight ends from Gailey's classes. PJ has increased the size of our line to over 300 lbs and we do use more drive blocking and some zone blocking having to rely less on cut blocks to disrupt the DL. BTW, every team cut blocks to some extent in their run offense. From the NFL to CFB. Because GT runs the ball 80% of the time we put in under a microscope, but GT uses the same technique as every other cut blocking scheme used in all football. Don't bitch about cut blocking. If your coaches teach your linemen proper technique for dealing with it twice as much as other teams, you'll be fine. It's when opposing DLinemen let their extended use of shedding cut blocks techniques slip that we start death marching the field and running the clock.

Anybody that schedules an OOC team that traditionally runs a triple option offense is an idiot..plain and simple.

Agree. GT handled VT with our new starting QB this year in their house convincingly.

m45auburn Georgia Tech vs Tennessee - Am I Crazy? Not crazy to think that, but I think Tennessee is too athletic for GT.
Last thing I'll say on this game. Why do you think GT runs the option? One of the best things about running the option is it's ability to equal the playing field regarding talent and athleticism. When GT was prostyle we had a huge problem with talent deficiencies with respect to opposing teams. Since we have had the option we have played UGA a lot more competitively and won a lot more and the same applies to Clemson and FSU. Those 3 programs are tragically more talented than GT, yet GT gives them fits. I think over PJ's time at GT we are 5-4 with Clemson. Trust me, GT players and fans aren't worried about UT's athleticism. GT has some of their own too.

If I had a dollar for every time Tennessee said that about a OOC opponent and got smoked or almost lost..

That's rich coming from a guy whose squad just hired a failure of a HC/Shrimp boat captain in: Ed I'm 7-23 in SEC play Orgeron. Thanks for the insight.
You do realize that the shrimp boat captain had more overall wins and TWICE as many SEC wins, coaching half a year as an interim, than Butch did in his entire first year at Tennessee? Right?

Interim head coach means jack shite. Lets see how he does with his team. As a head coach he is 3-23 vs the SEC.
Besides, O inherited a les Miles team, CBJ a Derek Dooley team. Give me a goddamn break.

And the situations that they walked into were about as different as a July afternoon in Death Valley CA and a Winter's night in Iceland
