Weak sauce. That dude had to suffer though multiple years of watching UGA destroy his reputation as a good basketball coach. He deserves generational money for that.

I'm not liking this "for cause" trend going on in college sports coaching these days.

I get your point but this isn’t trying to ratfrick Crean the way Auburn and Tennessee have done their coaches. One of our assistant coaches decked our director of player personnel who is on video berating our players on the court and who has been doing it routinely throughout the season. It’s a rules violation and a reflection of the lack of control Crean has on the program.

I’m not liking these $100M fully guaranteed contracts either.

Then don't sign it. Pretty simple.

If you sign it, then pay him. Make better choices when hiring a coach

If you are referring to Pruitt then fre@k you. That man deserves absolutely zero for getting us under the NCAA microscope again AND for trotting out Gurantano every game at QB. I hope he ends up in a van down by the river with the rest of you gumps.

Coaches should have W/L expectations put in their contracts and if they fail to meet those standards then they are fired for cause.
Would never happen. Coaches are the one with the leverage.no way theyd go to a school who added that verbiage.

Tennessee was smart enough to put clear language in their contracts that stipulated that lvl 1 or enough lvl 2 violations to constitute a lvl 1 violation gets you fired for cause. Pruitt committed a breach of contract by allowing staff members he had direct oversight of to commit multiple lvl 1 and lvl 2 violations. The fact he wasn’t well liked meant No negotiated buyout.

Tennessee has a demonstrable history of just paying the man a buyout when it’s not working out. And if Pruitt played ball a bit at the end he gets a negotiated buyout. But playing guys compliance told you to sit and being a douche gets you full contract enforcement(fired for cause).

Unless Auburn has a morality cause it’s completely different than Tennessee’s situation. Unless UGA has a duty to report (highly doubt it) then it’s completely different than Tennessee’s situation.

This is a black eye on the image of the SEC.

I don’t mind it when things like this happen to coaches who have not yet proven themselves (like Harsin) but when someone tries to oust a man who is a top 5 coach in the league (like Crean) - it sickens me.

The SEC office should intervene and force georgia to keep him.

It is good for Crean.
It is good for Georgia.
It is good for the SEC.

He’s a great man and coach. He needs to sue Georgia for defamation.
