If you can ignore the “new coaching, New scheme” thing, this would make sense.

He has a noodle arm and is short bro. That makes him low-ceiling. He will be undrafted.

Aumavae is a good college nose tackle. He probably has a ceiling of 3rd day draft pick. I feel good about the spot but I could feel better.

Now do that with the most important position on the field. The margins will be tighter this year.

The incremental improvement on offense won’t overcome the losses on defense.

His ceiling is top 5 in the nation, So this isn’t the knock you think it is.

Define major step back.

Hard to define bc I still think UGA has far superior talent to everyone they play. And therefore, will still go 11-1/ 12-0.

You don’t lose the best LB/ DT(s) in college and one of the best front 7 in history and don’t take a step back. You’re actively doing a disservice to your former players if you think the young talent will plug in and play to a similar level. Even if they are more talented from their recruiting stats you can’t take away the amount of experience your defense had last season. Multiple starters on your D last year were multi years starters or had had significant playing time for multiple years. They’d seen a lot. You may have a 5 star at ILB now but he hasn’t played in 20+ games like nakobe dean had. So in short, I think you allow a lot more points and Bama hangs 40+ on you in ATL and blows you out.

What is the implication of this take?

I wouldn’t bet on Georgia winning the SEC or making the playoffs.

Because our returning qb only threw 2 tds in the final 10 minutes of the national title game or because he isn’t nfl sized?

Well Donald Duck I wouldn’t bet on Oregon even being able to stay on the same field as
UGA. The outcome will be decided well before halftime. Even more so than our game against Michigan. Georgia should be up by least 30 at the half.

For the most part, my interactions with the Georgia fanbase are much more down to earth than most. I will consider this post an outlier.

Probably. He's also a high floor QB and that won't change either.

I don’t take message boards personally. I did enjoy the Tennessee home and home.

Stetson is also a QB who is wearing a National Championship ring. And if he is too short, everyone better take a good look at Bryce Young. Stetson probably has a half inch on him and is only 4 pounds lighter. A few Big Macs could take care of that.
Georgia may or not repeat their championship this season. That’s an incredible hard thing to do especially when you are losing a record number of players to the NFL. But I am sure they will be in the hunt for the conference championship and the playoffs. Oregon won’t. And I was feeling good about our game with the ducks even before I heard that Nix would be their likely QB. Now I’m feeling extremely confident. He never did anything against Georgia except run for his life. And as much as I despise AU I have to be honest - they are a much better team than Oregon.

Oregon will win its division and play in the PAC-12 Conference Chanpionship game. They will compete for the conference just as much as Georgia.

Oregon’s OL will be better than what he had at Auburn too.

Hate to sound like “we wuz hurt” Bama but it was learned after the playoff game that JT Daniel was injured the week before the game. He was wearing a protective jacket under his uniform the entire game. It was the first game for both UGA and Clemson and neither played their best game. Clemson may not have been the Clemson of old but they were still loaded with top talent. After their loss they seemed to lose heart and were never the same. Guess the Dawgs broke them. And that is exactly what Georgia is gonna do to the Ducks
