I get Texas +6? Sure, you're on.

That's where you would be wrong. Michigan had the #1 defense last year and returned 10/11 starters. They have 3 first round picks and several mocks have them all within the top 10. If you actually watched Michigan games this year you would see it's stout, but with the offense consistently giving up 3 and outs, they spend most of the game on the field. That wears on them, thus they get tired.
The fact of the matter is that Texas will not face a better defense all season than Michigan's.
I'm just going to point out to you that Michigan gave up 24 points to Minnesota and USC and 18 points to Arkansas State. You scored 31 against them.
It's not like Michigan has performed well against other teams and struggled only against Texas. Michigan has been very average on defense against everyone. The only team Michigan held to less than 3 scores was Fresno State (who scored 10).
These aren't good results. It's not even like these were points given up with backups in while blowing out the games. Minnesota and USC were both 27-24 nailbiter wins. Arkansas State was a 28-18 point 10 point win against a cupcake. Michigan was running their top guys and barely did better against these teams defensively than they did against Texas.
The fact you think Michigan has a top defense is because you're simply not paying attention. You're in for a surprise if you think they're the best you'll see. You'll be facing a better defense in your next game (Oklahoma).

You listed 2 teams that haven't played anyone with a pulse on offense. Michigan has played 2 top 25 offenses(USC and Texas).
Look... USC scored 27 points against LSU and 24 points against Michigan. LSU does NOT have a great defense. What makes you think Michigan does? USC's offense is ranked 29th in total offense and 38th in scoring offense. That's not particularly good.
Hell, Texas scored 31 against Michigan and 35 against Mississippi State.
Arkansas State scored more against Michigan (18) than they did against Iowa State (7). Minnesota scored more against Michigan (24) than they did against Iowa (14) or UNC (17).
Michigan isn't holding anyone to lower than expected point totals. Even their one solid defensive performance (allowing 10 to Fresno State) isn't much better than what UNLV did to Fresno State (held them to 14).

I'm starting to think you haven't watched Michigan this year.
I'm starting to realize you're basing all of these statements on what teams did last year. Have you paid attention at all to this season?

Well if you even payed attention to how those points were scored, you would have seen only 2 drives resulted in a more than 20+ yards and a score. Minnesota only began to move the ball after 7, 4 or less play drives by the Michigan offense. The game of football as a whole is 3 phases. When 1 phase struggles it affects the other phases.

Box score watching and speaking on games you didn’t watch is a bad look.

I think Michigan is a good defense because I have actually watched their games, not just looked at the final score. Oklahoma is a good defense, they’re not better than Michigan tho. They do suffer from the same thing Michigan suffers from (poor offense leading to a tired defense and an inflated score).

Because LSU defense wasn’t gassed like Michigans was. LSU was able to sustain drives. Michigan wasn’t. Since you love to look at the box score, go look at Michigans second half box scores against these teams. Team can only score when they get tired (because they spend 3/4th of the game on the field).

Yeah… Texas played very good against Michigan and played poorly against state lol.

Yes Arky State scored 14 in the fourth quarter after Michigan turned the ball over 3 times and had 3 and outs all game.
quote:actually I’ve only stated 1 thing based on last year , Michigan returned 10/11 starters on the #1 ranked 2023 defense. Other than that it’s been actually analysis of the game, not just looking at the final score to make an assumption.

But this is hilarious since you made your initial argument about Georgia being good based on “Georgia started off last year like this and turned it around”. Or that they’ll actually play a 4 quarter game (even though they haven’t yet) because they’ve done that before. Try not to shoot your own argument down, champ.

I wouldn’t ban bet any poster from UTrans. They will just come back under an alter if they lose - see XWing for exhibit A.

The Alabama game will have zero effect on the Texas game. I'll assume you are a teenager. At best, maybe 23.

UGA will beat Texas by 14 or more.
