he will not play in the first game against Auburn

Easy to believe considering the circumstances.

Sources say in exchange of Auburn being very helpful in the process, Stoops and Malzahn came to a gentlemen’s agreement that UK would not play him in the first game against Auburn.

Hard to believe and sounds like nonsense. If he doesn’t play, that won’t be the reason why. There is no justifiable reason as to why they would agree on that or even suggest it as coaches. Stoops would undoubtedly play the players that gave them the best chance to win. And Gus isn’t concerned about Gatewood and I’m sure he hopes he does well at UK. There wasn’t any bad blood and Gatewood left on good terms. He wanted a better path to playing time and both parties understood that. Why would Gus care if Gatewood played or not? If Gus thought Gatewood was a world beater, he would be the starting QB at Auburn right now.

I laughed hearing this because it just sounds like something a Kentucky homer would say, to hype up Gatewood without giving it much thought. It defies all logic. And if Auburn was so helpful, how come he isn’t cleared yet? Others that decided to transfer later than Gatewood have already been cleared. Makes no sense whatsoever.
