Any time I see a defender lift up the ball carrier and fall on him with his body I think Nick Fairley.

Jenkins slung, herrera hit.... Notice herrere leads with his shoulder, aiming at franklins shoulder. At full speed. If hererra tries to pull back and makes softer contact, but higher, then it is an ejection. Or his other option is to go completely rag doll so as to not hit frankie as hard, then herrera is hurt and we are arguing about the dangers of hurry up football to defensive players.

The great thing about the SEC is they do a great job with the officials to make sure they get it right,” Pinkel said. “We have a process. It’s a good process, and it’s thorough.”

EXPECT NOTHING FROM THE SEC

It wasn't exactly a squeaky clean hit, but I don't believe it was malicious, either. At least not any more malicious than usual in football.

Franklin had just let go of the ball a moment earlier, and the defensive players' momentum was already coming toward him, ball or not. They couldn't very well have suddenly pulled back and only given him a gentle nudge.

There was a little extra mustard on the hit at the end that wasn't necessary, but I don't think it was anything more than the heat of the moment. It's unfortunate, but there's no smoke, no fire here.

If Pinkel wants to see malicious, he should watch the tape of the Florida DL and the LSU OL going at each other.

Does it get to be tiresome trying to cleanup the shite that the monkeys keep slinging out of the pen? One of the few level heads in the Mizzou corner. I'll pray for you.

Didn't appear to be a dirty hit... if the UGA player had lead with the helmet and taken several steps after the throw, then it would have been.

No dawg in this fight, but it looked late to me, and then the throwing him down crap. Definitely 15 yards and possible ejection in the NFL. Unless it is a bama player you will not get shite for it in the SEC.

Welcome to old man football Mizzou. Great win btw.

Sometimes I just have to leave for a while.

It's only a few though - most of our posters are cool. Every fan base has its village idiots.

If Franklin doesn't get injured on the play, noone says a word.
Kind of true, if he would not have been hurt I would have just said that was another late hit by a Georgia player and then forgot about it.

U know going in a different direction, if Franklin just covers up and takes the sack, he would more than likely be fine.

The second defender was an inarguably late hit.

Well good luck with the SEC officials office. LOL. Maybe Pinkel will also send in all the plays where his players could have been flagged, but weren't. Basically, I feel as though the SEC officials have become worse and worse over the past few years. I understand why they aren't calling holding, but dear God the lineay has turned into a free for all because of it. Other than the apparent concentration on procedural penalties and targeting, it seems to me that everything else is up for grabs this season. Just look at all the PI that was let go on both sides during LSU-UGA.

I will say this Missou fans, officials will usually allow a little more leeway for defenders against running QBs because if they made every defender somehow avoid them as soon as the ball is an inch away from the fingers, then it would give the mobile QBs an unfair advantage on the move. BTW your outrage at JHC's quote is a bit melodramatic. That is what every defender wants to do to a mobile QB. A mobile QB is an offensive advantage. They putting themselves out there to be tackled is the inherent disadvantage which is why pro teams with so much money invested in their QB is why this firm if offense has taken so long to take hold in the NFL.

Congrats on the win. Your team played a helluva game. Every team eventually gets screwed by the refs. Your team benefited from plenty if other non calls that game. If I was you I would be concentrating on Florida. UGA has plenty of other rivalries. Missou ain't about to become another one.

Nobody ever hated an injury worse than I did the one to Lattimore. But that is the SEC, and the Tennessee player wasn't dirty.

Franklin is a player and I hate it. But once again this is the SEC, the toughest conference in the country. Where some linebackers are in the 4.5-4.6 range. Sometimes something gives.
