Jenkins' hit wasn't dirty - it was a hard, clean hit. Herrera slinging him to the ground when the ball had already been thrown should have been a personal foul.

If you look closely, the throw to the ground wasn't what hurt him - Jenkins falling on him and the impact of that weight on his throwing shoulder, which was already on the ground, is what injured him. But if Herrera hadn't slung him to the ground that way, leaving him vulnerable, he wouldn't have sustained the injury because the angle of Jenkins follow-through would have been different. And this occurred after the ball had been thrown. Should have been a personal foul.

That said, I don't think it was a deliberate attempt to injure him though.

Except the ball was already released, so the Georgia player should have stopped trying to tackle Franklin.

First, the kids perspective at that speed likely couldn't redirect that quick (watch it in REAL TIME).

Second, had he been super quick enough to try and pull up, he would have still launched Franklin out of bounds eliciting the protest for the same thing.

I will call it straight though....Herrera had ill will and HE absolutely could've pull himself out of the tackle.

This was posted not long ago on the Jawja Board. Looks like the Georgians aren't taking the loss well.

---------------------------

Look, I've never been one to make excuses, but after watching the replay of the game it's clear we got shorted by the refs. Very badly. I'm now hearing on the radio that Pinkel in slandering our team when the exact opposite happened. I plan on letting them now how I feel through every avenue. I encourage everyone on here to do the same.

that was not that bad, you should have seen some of the stuff Fairley got away with.

If the player had time to wrap his arms around Franklin and drive him into the ground, he had time to NOT wrap his arms around Franklin and drive him into the ground.

Yep. Good summary.

This thread just presented the masses a chance to take shots at Mizzou fans because they haven not been able to pile on so far because they have been playing well.

We move on as a program and get behind Mauk.

His momentum doesn't force him to follow through swinging him around lifting him up an then driving your weight into him though does it?

If so I have a new move for base flag football an will direct the refs to this thread

And there you go. Feel free to turn in your recently earned SEC card at the door. Sounds like they are solidifying their excuse when they don't go to ATL. Good move

Georgia places bounty on James Franklin

Where does it state that in the article?

Only thing I saw;

quote:

“He's a quarterback. If he comes my way, I'm going to try to kill him. That's just it,” Georgia safety Josh Harvey-Clemons said. “I've seen games where he does lower his shoulder like that. That's the last thing you want to do is get run over by a quarterback.”

quote:

“Last year our focus was really making him play quarterback and not run over [us] because all we heard from the reports was that he was a big quarterback, he could move and that he's just a guy that's not easy to take down,” Jenkins said. “We're just really going to try and focus on keeping him in the pocket at times.”

How does that equate to a bounty?

You guys paint perfect targets with threads like this then become cry babies when you get dog-piled.

It does suck that Franklin is out and I happen to feel extremely bad for a kid his own fans went after last year by doubting his toughness.

It doesnt. Not many Mizzou fans support that hyperbolic narrative.
