That may be true....but....she was the one who suggested using it when a recruit committed. That is where it came to be a part of the athletic program. Heck people were playing Sandstorm for years before it became a part of out culture. It doesn't mean others playing it sooner didn't make it our thing. Geez....

but this thread has nothing to do with its use for commitments. We have used the gesture and said spurs up for a while. This is the first time I can remember that someone has given us "spurs down" ....and honestly it was kind of a dumb celebration from a bench player who just came into the game after it was decided

The hand signal was traditionally done during the "USC - GO COCKS" cheer during football and basketball games.

Never heard it called Spurs Up til Muschamp's wife named it.

As far as baseball getting the shite kicked out of them, I don't know if the Carolina baseball program is ever coming back. It's a shadow of what it was 10 years ago, and *that* was a shadow of what it was 10 years before that. I miss it, but it's got no life left in it.
