16th on 24/7. That's SC's best class since 2012, when they were also 16th. It's 5th best class in history, who's average class this century is 27th. When Beamer was hired in 2020, very close to ESD the best he could muster was a 56th place class (SC's 3rd worst class ever). IN the two years since, it's been a complete reversal.
Yes, we're still 4th in the east and 7th over all in the SEC, but given our history, as a SC fan, you have to be "happy" with the numbers.
Some more interesting things gleaned from the data. Based on statistical average, Muschamp was our best recruiter. His classes always ranged between 18-25th. Every one of his classes was above SC's statically average. Yet he did the least with these classes.
SC's best class ever was under Spurrier in 2007. That class ranked 6th overall. Eight of Spurrier's classes were above SC's historical average, 3 were below. You could say he was our best developer of talent based upon the #'s.
The Lou Holtz era was so long ago, it's hardly relevant. However, what you can say is the program showed steady improvement under Holtz. He had the two worst classes since data was kept on such things at 77th, and 76th in 1999 and 2000 respectively. He also had two of SC's better classes in 2002 and 2003 at 13th and 12th respectively. The gamecocks slipped to 29th in 2004, but he set the table nicely for Spurrier in 2005.

They definitely look like a team on the rise. Finished the season stronger than expected, top 20 recruiting class. It's good for USCe, good for the SEC East, and good for the SEC.

Beamer is doing a hell of a job, imho.

Spurrier during his time at South Carolina benefitted in recruiting from Tennessee being shitty and both Dabo and Richt half-assing it.
It was a moment in time. As long as Dabo is at Clemson and Kirby at Georgia, a top 15 or top 20 class ain't bad at all.

Love that you guys got 3 out of the top 5 in SC and Dabo only got one. That’s what Spurrier did.

Your team seems to be in good hands right now with Beamer. He was a good coach at UGA and is doing well at SC. Congrats!

At first I thought he left it out, and was thinking "WTF, Lonnie?!"
Then I scrolled down.

You guys are basically a whole year, a couple recruiting spots, and an actual good coach behind Missouri.

It's 100% true. Learn how hype your team.

Pretty funny for a team that finished behind SC in wins, in the division and in recruiting. You were our let down game after our A&M win. Congrats, I guess.

Wish the best for Scar, except when they play us.

I will basically never not upvote a good chicken "We comin'" gif.

In the history of gamecock recruiting classes, you're saying only 2 of them have ranked worse than 56th? That seems hard to believe.
