Our young inexperienced bigs dealt with foul trouble for much of the night....Silva finally got himself unfricked enough to stay on the floor for a bit in the 2nd half, and ended up with 11 pts...
Thornwell led the team with 18 pts, 7 rebs and 6 assists - Notcie and Dozier each added 17 pts. The interior rebounding for the Gamecocks wasn't as good as I thought it would be, but that was due to all the early foul trouble I guess. We still out-rebounded LA-Tech 35-29.
The perimeter shooting was solid - we were very good from behind the arc. The free-throw shooting needs to improve.
A good opening win for hopefully another 20+ win season. We're back on the court Sunday against Holy Cross....

It was an enjoyable game except for there being a foul called 8 out of every 10 possessions. Silva was a monster at the end of the game when it was close. I'm expecting us to be top 2 or 3 in CUSA, so we should be a decent win for you guys.

I am hoping we repeat the magic of that 1992 game vs. Clemson this year.

Everyone around here is going to undersell La Tech ... but y'all have a good team.
