I'm curious as to what the local fans in Florida wanted to happen? I know this is what the university wanted...but what was the local feel? What were they saying on local radio as to what they thought the UF officials should do?

There are way more people involved than just fans. The administration has to do what is best for the safety of everyone involved. When you start catering to the whims of crazed fans you end up four games into a season without a HC, paying millions to get rid of a coach, ect. You see what I'm getting at. It just leads down a bad road.

Edit:
I kid, I kid !!!

We play Ole Miss on 10/22

We all know that. He's talking about moving the UF UGA game to 10/22 and playing UF LSU on 10/29. Try and keep up.

I guess they could theoretically have the game on December 3 but it'll be pretty meaningless and I would hate to see a player suffer a serious injury at that point, pretty confident that this game is never played.

UFMatt, it took so long to make the call because Fla. refused to play in TS & then kept dragging it out till it was too late to make the change. LSU offered to play here on Tue & again on Wed. which would have given everyone plenty of time. The decision last yr for the Cocks to come to BR was made on a Wed too. Is it a coincidence that the Fla did not want to play now and their entire DL is out for the game and their QB is banged up? LSU's press release is saying the game has been cancelled. LSU will not give up a home game...$$$$...to make it up. Game over, gators win off the field.

Nope - frick NO unless it is a HOME GAME FOR LSU. We would be losing millions because of something like that.

There's precedent for moving games to visitor team's venue in disasters.

Either reschedule or move it. Don't puss out. But Florida has to be Florida.

If it can be rescheduled, why does it matter when its played? Or are you thinking it doesn't get played at all?

game over. This year LSU v UF will not be played. Florida will now play for second place in the east.

Since 1970 these teams have played every season. Till now when Florida decided to take a cowards choice of avoiding a game this weekend.

The SEC office was played by Florida. We all lose because the SEC commish was a milk toast leader. No Nuts there.

It's not like there wasn't precedent to move the game to the visitor's venue. This has been done before. Lodging, revenue sharing, and tv deals were all worked out.

Florida is embarrassing their fan base.

There has to be more to it. Something smells fishy.
