There is a lot of drama in Athens. Cochran, Gilbert, and now a rash of injuries. Their depth is good and should be okay. But this is troubling if you are a dog fan.

Gilbert has never even played, Cochran was replaced by Mushcamp for now and the WVU transfer hurt our CB depth.

I am more concerned with our Oline being banged up than anything.

I haven't read about any inordinate about of injuries from GA. Most, if not all, teams seem to have some bumps and bruises this time of year with fall practice. You just hope to avoid the major ones.

Clemson is still a winnable game despite all this. Assuming we don't have any further injuries we should be at full strength (minus Pickens and Gilbert??) by week 3 or 4. We can lose Clemson and still make the playoffs if we win out

It's just Ericcson that is hurt, no? I think our OLine worries are a bit overblown

UGA has had at least 2-4 major players every season be injured in their practices since Kirby got there. It’s got to suck to be a fan of that team every year facing that kind of disappointment.

Top 2 wrs out. Next 2 banged up.
Top TE Washington out. Next guy banged up.
Transfer Gilbert MIA.
Transfer db out.
Center broken hand.

Most teams banged up like that?

That is the main one, since he is our center and is playing with a cast from what I read.

Sounds like you might have a few guys out or maybe none at all (other than Pickens obviously)

I'm not sure I'm gonna say "decimated".

But it is troubling at a few spots.

Our receiving core lost Pickens. That was real. Still seems to be problems with Blaylock. That is real. D-Rob has transferred. That is real. Darnell is dinged up a while. That's real. Fitz has been beat up. That's real.

Gilbert being gone is a "could've been" or "what if". Cochran's impact is unknown.

Ericson's hand is concerning because of his position.

But we still have fantastic talent. The problem now becomes if we lose players during the first few games, what remains behind them is largely unknown and untested.

Gonna be hard to beat Clemson at 80% strength, that's for sure, but the rest of September is pretty favorable to allow us to get healthy.

minus Pickens

What’s the word on him lately?

Think he can make it back in time for the postseason, at least?

Yep. If your o-line is banged up, it's not long until your QB is banged up.
