We've moved on to two NC's and 5 straight wins over the Vols, 4 straight years of 10 wins or more, while Tenn has moved on to 2 back to back losing seasons and a bowl game away from 4 back to back to back to back losing seasons.

I think Karma paid Fulmer back for the way he did Major. JMHO.

The difference is now that Fulmer is gone, we've moved on. You guys apparently haven't.

Tell that to the OP.

Let's not go too far and canonize Majors for sainthood, let's just say John had a few armor chinks

All coaches do, but what Fulmer did sure was shady.

It's about time you had a quality post. It's too bad that it had to be the OP of a fishing thread.

You're not gonna be able to ride it forever, though, so you need to be considering using it to springboard on to better things.

I think it was 3-7.

nah. he didnt take over in 92 until the last four games i think. he played against spurrier 93-01. however, if you count his games against spurrier at SC, he was 5-8. So, even with spurrier trying to rebuild one of the worst programs in the sec, he only went 2-2 against him

Yet one poster has basically repeated the same two numbers over and over, half the time with a smiley face, and you guys sound like you are about to go poison his trees.

In what way? I can see how you would say that about Bruce Pearl, but not about Fulmer. Not only was his firing completely justified, but it was 3 years too late.

You guys ever figure out if Tennessee has ever had 5 straight non winning seasons or if Fulmer didn't go 12-5 vs Bama and put them in timeout?

Meh, the OP was a above-average fishing attempt. Got quite a few bites, so it was meritorious.

The unsung heroes were his vol backups who came in and started propping Phil up as a paragon of virtue. That's what kept the thread going, really. All of you deserve credit for making this a success.
