2008 Alabama Crimson Tide
2007 Illinois Illini
2006 Marshall Thundering Herd
Auburn and Bama had good to great teams surrounding their FC titles. Nobody else did. That isnt enough to support a positive relationship between winning and the fulmer cup.
However, it does appear to be a very SEC type of accomplishment.

SEC fans do not like that they are in the Fulmer cup standings, but they point it out early on so it can be an excuse for losing to a rival later in the year....
Our coach did the right thing and kicked our top player off the team for breaking team rules, otherwise we would have beat ______.
