6 years? That time frame keeps getting longer every time I see it

Counting the women's basketball deal, I think it does go back 6 years. Not sure when they drug the track and field thing into it.

Well maybe they shouldn't have their entire athletic department cheating if they don't want the NCAA around town.

If you're going to cheat enough to get investigated then why do it in a sport that doesn't even make money like freaking women's basketball (or women's anything) or track? Football and men's basketball are the only sports worth cheating at.

But, to sit there and act like Ole Miss is the only school in the country that does is completely ignorant

Literally no one is doing this. This is strawman du jour of the OM fanbase

Back in the Van Chancellor days, Ole Miss had as good a basketball program as anyone with the exception of Tennessee. I am sure there was a desire to get back to that level. Academic fraud is a tough and expensive way to get there, but oh well ....

It's not a defense. Simply stating facts. Not saying it makes it ok to do it. Just stating that it happens everywhere whether you want to believe it or not.

other programs don't involve staff members. Other programs don't dare the NCAA to find something. Other schools have a compliance department that self reports before the NCAA uncovers stuff. Other schools take proactive measures to get rid of staff members or distance themselves from certain boosters BEFORE the NCAA starts investigating. Sure other players have committed after receiving improper benefits, but it is not "business as usual" to receive benefits in the manner they did at Ole Miss.

It has nothing to do with Ole Miss cheating. It has everything to do with Ole Miss not being able to take their lick and move forward. It's trying to take everybody down with you.

It was kinda sad last night talking to the old man, he said he was glad we went to and enjoyed the Sugar Bowl, because now knows for a fact he will never see Ole Miss when the SEC championship in his lifetime.

Well if that don't get into your feels I don't know what will.

This is so easy......I know that our time will come and somebody will do this to me/LSU so I don't have any problems with it.

Look, oxford is a shithole, if they don't cheat their team is gonna look a lot like uab. Auburn got away with it because they spent the money judiciously with a nattie as a result. Ole miss got exactly what in return for the payoff? Pretty much zip. Athletic dept can bone up on effective illegal use of funds over the next few years and do a better job of payola next time...aiight?

Actually Oxford is pretty nice, considering the landmass that surrounds it.

Lets be honest here, every fan base would react the same way.

True.
However, it's more painful for the Rebels. They haven't won an SEC title since 1963. They had a good year in 2003 but LSU won the national title that year while Eli fell on his arse.
Freeze had them quasi relevant for two years, including a brief stint in the Top 5.
That's 3 years out of the last 50 plus years. They were oh so close to losing their "runt" reputation and now "poof"- it's gone.
It's like being in a room with Kate Upton in bed naked when suddenly, a LEO yanks your arse away for being somewhere you didn't belong.
