I don't know, never heard that one before...the extra week for Auburn to prepare, and Bama's short week due to Thanksgiving, are both verifiable.

I thought it was because Saban only spent a day on Auburn?

Good point and all that really matters is that we won inspite of boogs like Stan White saying brilliant things like "they won battle but we won the war". No shite that is the type of things they are saying about that game.

Maybe it's innocent but your history leads one to think otherwise. Also we prefer Revitalized Auburn's Abismal Offense Gus

Original Poster. . .
You got this from a thread on BOL and the message says "for the Auburn lurkers"
Nice try, though.

No need to act all butt sore, I said he would be a good fit.
Malzahn wouldn't be a good fit. He runs a completely different kind of spread offense than Leach did. Leach uses the east/west style of running attack while Malzahn's is north/south.
Tony Franklin would be a better candidate than Malzahn.

I meant he would be a good fit in that the school is already use to being a system school and would be ok with a coach that does not line up and try to beat anyone but just depends on trying to trick the other team. Thus the name Gimmick Gus.

You're probably a member on Rivals, go look at the message and see what it says.

It'd take him a few years to get the players in there that could run his style of offense. Tony Franklin failed miserably at Auburn without the right type of players. I think Malzahn would be the same way if he went to Texas Tech. It's not going to happen, though, so it's pointless to argue about it.

The kind of players Texas Tech has on its roster would fit Malzahn's system like a glove. Plus, the Big 12 doesn't play defense.

And every other teams walks up to the line of scrimmage and tells the defense what they are about to do. Every offense is designed to "trick the other team."

Wonder if they will go after June Jones?

Now that would be a perfect fit.

There would be some symmetry to a Jones hire.
