What is your criteria for a top 10 coach....enlighten us.

70% winning percentage in a shitty, down conference with a terrible bowl record (several of them in shitty bowls) isn't a top ten coach in college football resume.

Butch jones has very similar percentages with half the games played and I was laughed at when I mentioned that he could be brought in the discussion with 2B in terms of coaches in the SEC. The fact is, the Big Ten has been a joke for the past 10 years and until Meyer came in, hasn't had anyone on a national stage to compete for a championship.

Oh dear Lord you're some kind of stupid. A 70% winning percentage in any BCS conference is good. The B10 is no joke. It not the SEC but none of them are. Winning 3 conference titles in a row is a feat none have done. .....but the the conference is down..the big boys were on probation blah blah blah......Still counts...they should have ran a cleaner program.

But he only won have the games against the B10 programs. That means the power teams could only beat him half the time. He earned where he is and deserves to be where he is. Don't like to bad. DWI

for reference, Gene Chizik rocked a 63% winning percentage in the SEC while at Auburn and had a much better bowl record than 2B and a national championship. Would you say that he has a top ten coaching resume?

Les shouldnt be in the top 50. LSU's horrible seasons and national decline prove it.

If they haven't bought Cam the year they won the NC game the Aubies would have gone 7&5.

Wow, I didn't expect the list to be that bad. It's really, really bad in fact.

Auburn fans aren't mad. I actually wanted Petrino and thought Petrino was the vest available coach. If he hadn't brought his mistress into the AD, he would still be at Arkansas.

I wasn't big on the Malzahn hire though I liked Gus while he was our OC. He has done everything that he can do to bring life back into the program and probably has done a better job off-season than Petrino could have done.

I just don't think that 2B is a top 10 coach in the country. i can rattle off 4 coaches in the SEC that anyone not named Fox Sports would agree are ahead of 2B just in the SEC and Sumlin is arguable.

I can't recall a single Auburn fan hoping that AU hired Bielema. A coach that averaged 3.5 losses with a cupcake schedule in the Big 10. You know what you're getting with Bielema: a solid coach who can have decent seasons but never win anything big. He is your new Houston Nutt.

You would be a fool to not think that Saban, Richt, Spurrier and Miles aren't all better and more proven coaches than 2B and I would think that at least half of the Rant would argue that Sumlin should be ahead of him.

Richt has a higher winning percentage and an 8-4 bowl record.

Sumlin has a similar winning percentage as 2B and 2 bowl wins just like 2B.

Richt is a clear and obvious choice to be above him, it's ridiculous he isn't. I'm not saying he should be a top 3 guy or anything, but having him outside the top 10 completely invalidates this list, IMO.

As for Sumlin, I'd probably still have to put him just under BB since what he did came at Houston, so...big fricking deal, ya know? Not far below though as he did show he can at least compete in the SEC this past season.

This is why I said that Sumlin is arguable.

It is not easy to win at Texas. .

Are you freaking kidding? If you can't win and win Lone Star state big at Texas, you're in the wrong profession. Mack's not a Top 25 coach, and his achievements at Texas are less than top 100. He's been on cruise control for years. If UT fans are happy or near satisfied with a bunch of 10 win seasons , then mediocrity must be the goal in Austin these days. 10 win seasons ain't shite for a program with Texas resources.
