Stop acting like you don't know that Spurrier and Fulmer both ratted on Bama. It's not a secret. Bama simply made hay about Fulmer because of TSIO.
But your coach was involved. And truth be told, I bet others were too.

I remember Fulmer was pissing all over Georgia's backyard for a period in the mid to late 90s, then Donnan got his arse back starting with the '99 recruiting campaign as he stole his targets and Garner.
Oh no doubt.
When Rodney "The Bag Man" Garner was at Tennessee from what, 96-97, somewhere around there, UT cleaned-up in the state of Georgia.
So UGA/Donnan hired-him-away from UT and Georgia cut that connection off real quick ... but that fricking Garner hit South Carolina hard in the process.

Well as long as we are on the topic of current history, we are currently doing just fine in recruiting and we are also the team that prevented USC a chance to win their first ever national title. But such is life huh?
C'est la vie. Que sera sera.
And that is your lesson for today psk_Vol.

Spurrier has never once, not once, been named in all of that. The only thing he was guilty of was taking cracks at Bama and Fulmer both during SEC media days when Fulmer was a no-show trying to avoid being served subpoenas.
Hell, Tom Culpepper and Ronnie Cottrel both said it was Fulmer and Hyams meeting with Culpepper up in Chattanooga and that Fulmer was the only one trying to play super spy.
I have to lulz at the suggestion that Spurrier had anything to do with the whole Albert Means fiasco. Come onnnnn Prof ... you're reaching and you know it.
Stay focused here. The sooner Vol fans admit what Fulmer did was wrong, hypocritical, the sooner the dark cloud might be lifted. You have to repent and ask forgiveness before the healing can begin.

C'mon now Scrooster - this is me you're talking to. I won't slow your roll but I know you know this.
And did you seriously just mention Hyams? Dude has always been a running joke. He reports things hours or days after others and thinks he's breaking a story.
The idea of Fulmer playing super-spy is quite amusing though - I'll give you that. The storytelling is good.

Clear case of a guy appointed a position far above his ability based on his name rather than proven skills.
Of course it's his fault that the Vols signed him to an exorbitant contract.

What's so bad is that Hamilton did it twice - both Kiffin and Dooley were daddy's name/cred. I don't know how that happens twice unless Hammy just thought hiring on Dad's name was a good idea. But I can't explain the insane contracts he gave - Kiffin with little buyout and Dooley with too much of one with no justification - like he was gonna leave with his losing record at Tech to back him up.

Thank God, AD Hamilton is gone.

^Sig worthy, imo. Besides, Al Wilson was one of the few players I've ever seen that could quite literally WILL his team to win.

You can write a page of this drivel about karma, Fulmer, blah blah. And even to bring Usce into the conversation is ridiculous.
It's simple. We had a piss poor AD in Hamilton. He made terrible hires.
We never won less than 5 in a season. 2005 5-7

That was either an autocorrect frickup on my phone or a subliminal subconscious Freudian slip on my part.
Jimmy (Hyams) was good back in the day. But I meant to type Jimmy (Haslam). All the redneck Jews up in them thar hills confuse me sometimes.
Is Hyams still doing his show up there? I did not know that.
Listen ... there are perhaps a handful of people that know more of the details of all of that and how it went down ... Tom Culpepper was, at one time, a good young friend of mine. I liked that kid. He just overreached his boundaries. I knew quite a few people personally involved with that including some Memphis connections through another close friend.
It was ALLLLL Fulmer. It was 100% Fulmer. I do know that Fulmer called Spurrier and tried to get him involved, to speak-out, and Spurrier did say something in his 2005 SEC Media Days presser ... hell, I was there. But it was a jab. Spurrier in now way ever got involved with all that hypocritical underhanded shite Fulmer was doing.
Fulmer was one of the most crooked recruiters in history .... frick, everyone in SC knew it. Albert Haynesworth and others made light of it. Tee Martin all but admitted it and the fricking Western Union receipts proved it.
But Fulmer goes after Bama for the Albert Means stuff? And went after Bama with a vengeance. Fulmer destroyed lives. That's the bottom line. Nothing worse that a stone cold fricking hypocrite.
What UT is experiencing right now is a karma kickback for what Fulmer did and what so many Vol fans rejoiced in him doing at the time.

True. Nothing but a crook. It all started when the fat arse backstabbed Majors. That's why Johnny calls him "Judas Brutus" to this day.

I'll give you credit, if anyone on the Rant knows about bad karma in football it would be South Carolina. When an Outback Bowl trophy is a programs biggest accomplishment ever you know you cheer for shitty football.

You leave our redneck Jews alone brother! We have 3 synagogues plus a Chabad center - not too shabby for a place so small. And Jews have been here for ages. Besides, I think I might technically be one because I have a consistent matrilineal line that is sounding more and more Jewish given the surnames - there's even a Cohen line. And it's that line that makes one a Jew so I may well be a Jewish Christian which would make me bad at both but I already knew that much.

Gus Johnson called,

frickin' ey right.
Happened right after SCAR beat Tennessee. Fulmer backstabbed Majors ....
Why are Vol fans so incapable of grasping the golem that is Phat Phil on their collective backs?

Then he worked on the Carolinas until Spurrier and Davis arrived; that cut into him getting their best HS players.
