How is this different than an O lineman blocking on a trap play?

It’s not. It’s just happening 10 yards downfield.

Cheap shot against a defenseless player and then the piece of shite
stands over him to taunt him but yeah it was a bad call

Rules are different in the blocking box.

It was a great block, he probably gets away with it if he isn't in the open field, right in front of the umpire.

Wow I thought most UK fans had moved onto baseball since their football team imploded and their basketball team is in shambles

Offensive targeting has been called in single digits in 11 years, less than 1x per year. It seems it is a beta male ref seeing a hard hit and deciding it should be a penalty because it’s too rough.

Because offensive players don't usually commit blindside blocks outside of the blocking box and when they do, it isn't usually forcible contact to the head/neck area.

Still not a good decision by the WR to do that and then stand over the guy. Unnecessary and will cost him(us a half this weekend. He’s got to be a bit smarter.

Also, does not make the top 20 of bad calls this year in the SEC.

Aggies have a starting WR disqualified for the first half of a major game at USCe this Saturday.

He's got 12 catches for the year and isn't a starting wr.

Are you even an aggie fan?

Here's the entire sequence.

As stated before, #3 is tracking the ball carrier and turns toward #9 at the last second before getting smashed.

Textbook blindside block. They'll call that every time, especially when it's right in front of the umpire.

Poor #3. He is on the wrong side of so many highlight plays and sitting on his arse in many of them. Our RB’s physically abused him, and by then end he wasn’t even trying.

Does it meet the letter of the law so to speak on the targeting rule? Eh, probably.

Is it a really weak and overused rule in need of being pruned back? I’d say so.

I get they are trying to improve players safety. They are bigger, stronger, faster than when I was young and getting decleated because you didn’t have your head on a swivel was to be expected.

That being said I think they’re overdoing it

Maybe he shouldn't be laying blindside blocks and targeting defenseless players.

Just because y’all’s players suck at defense, doesn’t qualify them as defenseless

He's always been one of the biggest liabilities on the field.

It's ok. It's not like Reed has the ability to be throw the ball to him anyway...
